Hi everyone, so I'm biting my nails here, since we applied end of August, and it's middle of December and we still have nothing besides the NAO1. I understand it takes time, and the website puts us at about December to January. However, I'm leaving for Spain on the 20th of December and will be gone for a month. I'm concerned about the paperwork, does it come to the US or to my husband's address in Spain? Also, I'm being very optimistic that there will be no ROA since we haven't heard anything yet? Am I missing anything? Any advice would really help, I'm freaking out that the visa won't be ready in time for him to start school next fall, he has orientation in June. Thank you all and happy holidays.

Did you try to follow your case status using your NOA1 receipt number? you have to verify they're no waiting for a response from you? perhaps an RFE that got lost in the mail

If it's still on Initial Review, then you'll just have to wait.

We waited from May19th til Sept 23rd and then we received first RFE because the lawyer forgt to cross off one thing at the form.

Now second RFE of DEC9th as the passport copy of his us passport was unclear..such petty details an it delays for months...it takes few months...maybe expect to wait a month more. the u are at five. depending on where u filed that helps--

peace and blessings

The processing time does state 5 months, so I would start getting more worried past that time, and even then there are cases that take a little longer. However, you have the option of calling and inquire.

If you have the NOA1 receipt number you should be able to verify if you have any RFE through the USCIS website. As far as I know, any paper work regarding the I-130 should go to your US address, since the I-130 is made by petitioner. Once the case is forwarded to NVC, then your husband will receive the package with instructions to his Spain address.

Still says initial review, I guess I was worried, that since I'm gone for almost a month, and they send something to me :-( I thought that NAO 2 is sent both to me and my husband in Spain, no?

Relax, we went April 20-August 3 and then got an RFE. I left for Greece on August 4, so I couldn't respond to it until I returned 3 weeks later. Then I got them all requested stuff and they gave NOA 2 on October 3rd. I just got another RFE at NVC stage and been waiting 2 weeks for a reply to that so that we can get an interview date. I was told from beginning to expect 10 months to a year, so I had no illusions going into the process. Of course it's frustrating to see others apply @ the same time and even after you cases processing more quickly. But if you came in expecting 10 months, there's no reason to worry or get upset, because it won't change anything. Some people just have better luck than others at getting faster processing, there's no rhyme or reason to it. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

My NOA1 is June 8 and no NOA2. Still initial review on USCIS website. Nothing comes to mail box of my husband. I read some cases here that there is no update on USCIS website nor email notification, just NOA2 comes to mail box. So i am kinda worried some about mail lost if no update on USCIS website for my case.

You should be able to call up with your NOA1 receipt number. They'll check for ya and let you know if they sent out anything in the mail.
