Hi Guys,

I am in the same boat in that my EAD/EAC expires April 12 - Despite my GC not expiring till May 13.

I am aware that in order for my GC to have its validity extended, I have to apply to have the 2 year conditional expiry removed.

My conumdrum however, is do I have to apply for another EAD/EAC in order to work beyond the current expiry of April 12? If so does anyone know of the process?

Or does the GC's validity over ride that of the EAD/EAC and grant me legal authorisation to work till at least May 13?

Would really appreciate your views.

Thanks,

For all intents and purposes the EAD card "expired" when your received your GC as the GC trumps the EAD card. When you file for ROC the letter with the NOA1 will extent the GC valid period for one year. If you are coming up on that deadline and still no 10 year GC you can fill for naturalization and get the USCIS to deal with the ROC or just deal with the N400 and you become a US citizen. File for ROC and use the GC for another year.

Good luck,

Dave
