What happens to mail that is sent to your physical address? Does it get returned to sender? Or can you pick it up at your local post office?

What did the hotline tell you?

I would search through VisaJourney to see if anyone has been in the same situation, or make a separate post asking about this issue. I know there is a way to update them if you move during the application process, so there must also be a way to tell them about your address situation.

I just called the hotline, but that wasn't really helpful... We provided both addresses with our paperwork... but I guess we didn't make it clear enough that we can't receive mail at the condo building...

what should i do?

I cannot get mail at my physical address because we are a town of 100 and have no mail service. So what I do is write my physical address on all the forms and in the "care of" or "apartment number" box I write the PO Box address. Then I let the post office to know to watch out for such mail. If you have no street delivery the post office will also give you a paper saying so, so that you can send it to people who hate PO Boxes.

I'm not sure what happens to the mail that is addressed to the physical address, as I have never had anyone try to send anything here...

I told the guy at the hotline I was worried the mail wouldn't get to us, he said h can't really help me until it's been 30 days since the email notifications, cause then they could see what happened to the biometrics letter, but for just the notifications he couldn't help me. He wasn't able to tell me which address the notifications would have been send to...

We have no relatives in the area, my husband's parents and sister all live on the east coast... Started a topic to see if anyone had advice earlier, but didn't get any answers so far

So, I checked with our local post office and they send all undeliverable mail back the same day... so I guess our NOAs are on the way back to USCIS...

My husband called the hotline again, and the guy we talked to was nice enough to help us fix the address in the system, so hopefully from now on we should get the stuff in our PO Box... We might just have to live without NOAs...

Sure enough... only hours after we've gotten the address change done, I got an email from USCIS tat the notification for the I485 was returned as undeliverable... only thing I'm wondering about at this point is the fact that it was only the I485 not the other ones?! Or do they send them all in one envelope as NOA for I485??

Just glad we got the whole issue figured out...

Great, so it's confirmed that this was the issue. Pretty simple and you already fixed it going forward. As for the NOAs, they come as separate post cards --maybe you will get the rest (of the emails about undeliverable letters) later?

So, last night I got updates on the I131, I765 and I130, the e-mails said:

"On January 6, 2012 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days."

The status of all three says "card/document production"

Holy smokes?? I'm so confused right now... with all the drama with our PO Box, and I haven't done biometrics yet... can that really be the EAD/AP already?? Or would they send updates on anything send in connection to those forms?? And maybe I'm just being stupid, but what document would they send regarding the I130??

Sorry, I'm all over the thread the last few days...

Just got off the phone with USCIS and they confirmed that they actually sent the EAD and AP on Friday! I'm beyond excited!
