Indeed! It was a week prior to hitting the 180 days of case transfer. Maybe they thought it would take less time to make a decision on the case than having me on the phone making a service request and talking their ears off. :D

We have similar timelines, so I'm hoping the cases are in the same pile, just waiting to have the little blue dot move to the right on check-my-case-status soon.

Congrats to those getting their Green Cards! We filed our AOS Dec 27th 2011 and our file was transferred to the CSC Jan 23rd 2012. Last week we called the USCIS customer service center because the time has passed 6 month from our file being transferred. They put a service request in and we just got a response today in the mail saying "We have determined that your case would have a better result if you make an appointment to visit your local office, so you can speak with an immigration Services Officer about your case."

Has anyone received a response like this or know what it means?

Thanks.

An infopass appointment is most likely what the letter is referring to.

Thanks Old Dog Barking!

Kinda funny because I went into the USCIS office on August 7, with an info pass and asked to see an adjudicator. Once she arrived I asked her if she can pull my file and explain why I have not received any update since my May 18, 2012 interview. She obtained the file, perused it, looked at me and said they were confused because on 1 document i must have accidentally checked single instead of divorced. I said well maybe someone should have contacted me months ago or bring it up at my interview.

I though that was a stupid reason to hold me up considering all the other documents/pages showed divorced and I had included a divorce decree with the application I485. Any of you that are still waiting should go to your local office, request to have your file pulled from the fire room and have an officer (adjudicator) explain directly whats going on. Seems like they dont have time to call people in order to verify tiny errors. They would rather just sit on your file  *sigh* (that same night I received the email).
