You may get one when it goes to production, one when its done, one when USPS picks it up and then when it's delivered. Kinda nice to know what's going on after so long wondering.

EAD arrived today! Finally, valid & unexpired identification of who I am! And working for the first time! =D

I was approved this am, my passport was stamped, I didn't request it the IO just did it.

I had the worse interview, my husband said they gave us the resident tough guy, at one point I basically was sure he was going to RFE us or give us a stokes, because he wanted to see years of evidence, apparently there was even a meeting over my case because we had been married but not filed for so long, I guess after looking over everything he decided that it was good enough, he was friendly enough after.

Weird news. No passport stamp and they took the Work Permit/AP away from us. So there goes the weekend in Canada and the interview at the bank tomorrow. The IO said she had not seen the card before, did not know what it was, and therefore had to take it. Is that weird or what?

Today I got an email saying that my card was approved, which is weird because they had already sent TWO emails saying it was in production. It also said they mailed a NOTICE saying it was approved. If it was already in production, why is it being approved now? Also, on the website my case moved back from Card/Document Production to Post Decision Activity. Has this happened to anybody else?

She will probably approve your case. But it is weird that she hasn't seen the card before that's really weird. USCI recently changed design of EAD and AP cards to increase security but they should be familiar with this. I received my EAD today and it is different than the one I had before.

Yes, she told us we are approved and gave us a form letter which she admitted is worthless and only for our records. She also took the I-94 out of the passports.

Can you tell us more what happened at the interview. What kind of questions you were asked.. if you don't mind of course

The four of us got there 45 mins early. We needed ID and NOAs for all of us. Go through a metal detector, don't have any metal on you. No knives either, but cell phones with cameras are okay unless you are in, um, Santa Ana I think. Go to the window, leave your papers, wait. Wait. Wait more. Got called at 11am when appointment was at 9:30am and we got there early.

First they swear you in. Then they wanted passports and then asked questions to make sure you are you. Then they go through the application and ask questions about what you filled out. As long as you know the answers you're fine. Then they ask questions like are you a terrorist or practice polygamy, etc. Then they go through a huge folder and ask for documents. We brought it all and they wanted an original marriage cert, divorce papers for us, and name changes for the kids. Then they wanted to see we have joint stuff like electric bill, credit cards, etc. Then pictures. We only had 2 but that was fine, I wish we had more. That was all. She said we are approved and we were making small talk when the EAD came up and she took the card. Had we said nothing she'd not even know it existed, grrr. Total interview time about 30 mins.

Isn't that all you need. You should be happy. You should know that in the case of approval USCIS takes all the previous documents issued by them all EAD's and AP's.

She told us to wait for the GC. We have nothing to show an employer or to travel with. She said we cannot keep the EAD because it may be used fraudulently by others. So now we're not trusted!

Did you apply for SS card when you got your EAD. Your social security card should be enough for the job if it doesn't say "Valid For Work Only with DHS Authorization". They take these documents from everyone. It's a regular procedure.
