were you asked for your selective service card?

I don't have my copy of my registration, but I can check and confirm my registration online. I called selective service last month to request, I feel like they said it would take about two weeks, but I haven't gotten it yet and i checked the site and it says NINETY DAYS! http://www.sss.gov/Status.html

My interview if all goes well should be in about 2 months. Did you get asked for your registration during the interview, and if so did you have it? Would they accept a printout of my registration information from the website?

In my N400 packet my lawyer included a web printout (screen capture) of my selective service. However, in my interview yesterday I made sure I have with me a mailed copy proof of registration. I requested this months ahead even before submitting my application and they mailed me a postcard size proof.

But in my interview yesterday the officer was not interested with the mailed proof. All that he cared about after reaching selective service portion while reviewing the n400 application is that it is filled up correctly with my registration number. I offered the card but he said there is no need for it.

If you like, you can read through my full experience on the Sept 2011 filers. Good luck!

Thanks! Do you mind if I ask how long it took from when you requested to when you received the proof?

I'm in CA and can't remember where they are mailed out from but definitely much earlier than 90 days. I think mine took 2-3 weeks? I suggest you request for it now. If you forecast your interview schedule two months from now there should be enough time to receive the proof in the mail. But if it still doesn't arrive in time perhaps a web print out will suffice that if the interviewer asks for it.

I requested it about 3 weeks ago and still haven't received it (I feel like the lady on the phone told me 10 business days, which is 2 weeks). I'm wondering whether it's worth it to request it again.

Just print it out from their website if you don't receive your card.
