Need some advice. Friend of mine met a Russian Lady

This is exactly what her profile said on match.com

She said she lived right here in ohio only about a hour drive from my friend. Then when he mentions it to her, she acts confused and said it was a mistake.

I have shown him all the responses here and he is living in denial and makes excuses for her and is defending what her excuses are to him for why they can't talk on

phone or chat etc. Someone needs to knock some sense into him. :bonk:

Have him do the simple test of a fake email to her from another email adx.

If it's legit - he should get shut down - and can continue.

if it's not legit - then he can have two girlfriends... or something...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

You can only do so much and no more for your friend. If he still refuses to take your advice then allow him to learn the lesson for himself. It's his life. There are a million red flags popping up in this online connection. This has nothing to do with the Russian woman and everything to do with his naivete. :bonk:

I completely agree with you.

Definitely a scammer. I was originally on match.com too when I started getting these scammers coming after me. But, long story short, that piqued my interest since they were always way hotter than the normal women on match.com. I ended up going to www.elenasmodels.com out of curiosity and ended up married to a REAL Ukrainian hottie like 4 months later! lol Tell him, sorry he has been communicating (sort of) with a scammer and send him to a real website if he wants to find the real thing.

This is almost exactly my story. I was on match.com too. I searched for women with Russian language. I wanted to meet American women who shared my interest in Russian language and culture. Boy was a I surprised when I was contacted by all these hot women. Of course they were all scams. The scanners are really easy to spot if you use a little common sense.

I did research and learned there are many sincere RUB women who are beautiful, intelligent, well educated and looking for a good man. I ended up on Elena's models and RussianEuro. I wrote to many wonderful women and also a few scammers (remember you cannot be scammed if you don't send money). It took me about 9 months to find my fiance on RussianEuro. There was an immediate connection with her. Within a month of talking (emails, chats, video calls) we made plans to meet and see if the feelings were "real". There was no talk of love or marriage. We met in person and I knew she was the one. Then we talked about a second meeting. Then we talked about marriage and visa.

Sorry I'm rambling. I miss being with her so much and the NOA-2 is taking so long. :crying:

Another vote for scam for all the reasons given. My future MIL lives in a small town in Ukraine. She has a cellphone, computer and Internet access. RUB women are very proud. I can't imagine a real woman would tell a stranger she loves him and a real woman would not ask a stranger for money. I hope your friend listens and comes here for advice on how to meet a good RUB woman. He will not be disappointed if he finds one. He should also be realistic. It costs about $10,000 minimum for travel, visa and wedding.

There is no internet access in Russian libraries!

Y'know, I was kinda thinking the same thing but to be honest I have not been in a Russian library so I did not want to say for sure, but have been in Ukrainian libraries and there were no public access computers...and it was a NICE library. Some of the libraries there are just amazing.

There ARE internet clubs everywhere though, so public access computers are easy to find.

This whole ability and opportunity to scam Americans has at its root the lack of knowledge the average American has of the world. The average American thinks "oh, poor hot Russian peasant girl, she needs me to save her" He puts on his Cap'n America costume and starts writing checks!

Our system protects imbeciles who would probably die in the Russian winter if they had to live there. Maybe it is our country's destiny in life...to be the source of funds for scams around the world. Sort of a foreign aid program.

It kind of amazed me when I discovered that the Kiev and Moscow consulates were considered "low fraud" But then when you think about it, these scammers never make it to the consulate, they are not really interested in leaving the FSU, they have it pretty good.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!

My friend hasn't sent any money to her, which is good.

I hope you get your NOA2 very soon. I know the wait is so hard, and not knowing when it is coming is even harder. Good luck with your journey and hope you both get to see each other soon. Thanks

for the advice as well.

That perfectly describes men for ya and my friend to a " T".

And your right, Americans really don't have enough education of other countries, which makes us look totally ignorant. I sure hope my friend drops this chick and runs for the hills.

Thank you to everyone that has made a comment. I appreciate it, lol, however not so sure my friend will when I read them all to him. I think he has himself convinced she can't live without him. :bonk:

YES!

But he's not alone and it's not just USC men.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Please do keep us posted, especially after he sends bunches of money and then travels over there to meet nobody waiting for him at the airport.

Make sure he has some backup plan or at least a means to get emergency money after he gets all his fleeced out of him.

Like many NASCAR fans, we love to watch the Big Wreck in action!!!

What will happen afterwards, is he will totally blame the evil woman (man) and then repeat. There are many examples of these types and as stated, the scammers and these guys need each other. It's Nature's Way.

Why doesn't your dear friend do the research himself? Why are you involved? Obviously he has internet access. Maybe your having some fun with us?

The city of Plesetsk is a remote town where they have military and space facilities. I don't think I know of anyone who meet his fiance in this town.

If this is a legit inquiry, common sense is all you need to tell your "dear friend" to move on. You did not mention what MOB site he used to find her. Maybe you can tell us now.

Anyway, enough people have taken the trouble to write. Your dear friend should have all he needs.
