I wouldn't mind seeing this ban go through. What did people do before cell phones? We survived just fine without a phone plugged upside our head when we were driving.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

What did people do before cars? Maybe we should also ban cars too.

Cell phones have been around for many years ... texting is a newer fad which is just stupid. Texting is the real issue and they are taking this to the extreme as usual.

We also got along a lot better saving for things we wanted, and then paying cash. That way when it broke after the warranty ran out, we were not still making payments on the POS.

Two of my sisters and brother in laws make decent money but live paycheck to paycheck. They always have to have newer vehicles which means they have to pay full coverage on top of their car payments, and instead of moving out of town a bit to build a smaller, cheaper house...one where they could put a decent down payment on and keep their house payments at a reasonable cost if they ever lose their jobs, they both purchased new homes in a neighborhood where all the houses look a like and payed a ####### load of money in the process along with monthly homeowner fees. I get sh*t from them for driving this pos truck, but it's paid for and liability works just fine for me.

Same for those jug heads that get their ####### from places like Rent To Own...by the time they get whatever they got from there paid off, they ended up paying three or four times the price it was worth in the first place, where they could have saved up and got something decent off of craigslist. New toys...way too many toys for peeps who can't afford them but seem to think they have to have em.

The going out to eat all the time is another thing that wasn't that popular. I mean you factor in the cost of going out to eat somewhere like Olive Garden or Red Lobster twice a week and it adds up. Same with hitting the bars.

I see your point, but it's not just texting. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone taking on a cell phone cut me off or the vehicle in front of me. The worst of it is that they do it in the middle of winter in rush hour traffic and it's icy as fck up here and they don't even seem to notice what they did until half a dozen people honk and flip them off. People up here are finally starting to take license plate #'s and call 911 on these pr*cks.

Now I could see allowing people to use blu tooth. Hands free and all that. But then again if they are yapping on the phone, are they concentrating on the road ?

Common sense isn't all that common any longer. Aside from texting while driving, they're updating their facebook status from behind the wheel, eating cereal out of a to go bowl, reading the newspaper, applying make up, shaving, turning around to smack the kids in the backseat, etc, etc. I can remember quite a few times getting some road head  Some are just better at multi-tasking than others. Truck drivers used their hands with CB radio for years and have had a safer record than cars. I don't know why we ruin it for all, because of a few...

You wanna bet this law will not apply to the congress critters, their staff, the white house staff,

the various bureacrats, politicians and their staffs on the state and local level.

If you could catch me.

We should ban conversations in cars. No talking. Quiet game only. The whole drive.

Truck drivers used their hands with CB radio for years and have had a safer record than cars. I don't know why we ruin it for all, because of a few...

For the same reason we have police we don't need.

Because the government should take care of us. It's not our job to be responsible for ourselves.

How can they save our country if they can't talk on their cell phones?
