Hi everyone,

I had my interview in London yesterday and everything went well until the CO said there was just one problem. He asked how I would support myself until I have AOS and get a job... I thought that was why I had the i-134. So the CO then said, your fiance has checked the box on question 11, ''DO NOT intend to make specific contributions...'' when he should have check '' I INTEND''

So I got the blue form saying that I need to resubmit the i134 and i went on the example forms and saw that neither box was checked and they say to state ''n/a k1 visa process for permanent residence'' at question 11.

The CO made me believe that my fiance should have checked the 'i intend' box and then state how he would support me.

So i'm confused!

What did anyone else write for question 11?!

Really appreciate your responses!

WOW! I would like to know this too. I was going to leave them both blank, and put ''n/a k1 visa process for permanent residence'' in the space.

Hi There!! Soooo sorry to hear this happened I don't know what I would have done!

I also had my interview at london yesterday. For question 11 my Fiance didn't tick either and put "N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )" in the space provided. I am assuming this was fine because they didn't mention anything was wrong.

Good luck and I hope this helps! :)

Thanks for your reply! I think we're going to send it like that! Just threw me off because what the CO said! But I think my fiance just checked the box by mistake because he did write the 'n/a k1 visa process for permanent residence'. What a blow!

Congratulations to you two! Wish ours had all gone well. :(

I am so sorry to hear this! This has also kind of worried me as just checking through my I-134 my fiancee has also ticked a box in this section! The left box is ticked! Was yours the left or right box? Underneath she has written a statment saying that she does intent to support and provide for me will this affect my interview!?

London interview here. I also checked neither. Many UK people tick the "I intend" box. I think the problem is ticking "do not". It all depends on the consulate and the officer you get on the day because it's subjective to what they decide.

I feel like according to VJ you don't tick any and according to CO you tick 'intend'. The problem has arisen from ticking the 'do not intend' box (the right) so either tick the left box or leave them both empty.

I'm devastated that we didn't get full approval yesterday at the embassy but the CO was very nice & made it seem like its an easy mistake to fix.

Just more waiting. He said once when I get the new form, call for their courier service to come collect the form & my passport & then they will send me the visa right back.

Does that make sense?

Ya, it makes sense!

I mean you have everything else in order.

I have a friend who did the CR-1 Visa (the already married one) here in Ireland. His wife didn't have enough money on the I-134 to be approved. The Embassy told him; get a co-sponsor, send us back the new I-134 and we will send you the visa asap.

And thats exactly what happened!

His wifes aunt sponsored him, sent back the new I-134 within a week... had his passport w/visa inside within another week.

Wouldn't worry!

Cheers Widsy! Are you going through your visa with Embassy in Dublin? I applied there and they sent mine to London because I'm a UK resident (live in Northern Ireland) even though I am an Irish Citizen! :-s

Thanks for that message...hoping for the best!

my fiance checked the box " I intend" and put "K1, visa process for permanent residence", well if the CO wants to check the box, let your fiance redo his i-134.. good luck.. it's good your CO let you know what is the problem and let you resubmit it, some CO wouldn't do that but automatically refuse to approve a visa. Good luck and just do what the CO wants and you will be fine.
