Looks like it went to the California service center. First question is what exactly should/can I be doing right now that will help in the future?

I'm going to start looking into information to get her into school when she arrives...where to begin? I've heard that immigrants can be offered grants or substantial discounts on college. She already has a degree from her school in Bogota, Colombia but she'd like to continue her education....but as you can imagine money will be tight for a while until she starts working.

I also read somewhere that there is a form we need to fill out that will let here start working fairly soon after she arrives. Can anyone pass along any advice that can save me some legwork/research?

I'm thinking she needs at least a month or two to get acclimated before she even thinks about working, but I know she will be eager to get started as soon as she can.

I just want to know where i should begin or what specific forms I should look into.

Also, December 16th I'm leaving to visit her over the holidays and I will not return until January 8th. Since they sent me the NOA1 on Nov. 21, I'm probably not going to be hearing from them anytime soon, right? I know we could get an RFE, but aside from that they shouldn't be contacting me, correct? My parents will be getting my mail, but my cell service will not work. I guess I'm just sort of nervous something will come up and I won't be able to respond promptly.

Any words of advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

#1. There are No Goverment Grants to my knowledge. They are reserved for US Citizens and are and few between.

#2. Depending on the Colledge they may only reconize some classes and maynot add up to a 4 year degree in the US

#3. After Marridge, you will give the US Goverment a AOS at your exspense. She will not be allowed to work legally until that time or a EAD is issued and cost you if you want it earlier.

#4. Stay in Contact with your Fiancee as much as posible. It is understandable sometimes this maynot be posible.

#5. Don't worry to much and don't make her worry.

the best thing u can do right now that will help u in the future is relax!! getting nervous wont do u any good..

ive also searched universities/colleges near and around the area of my fiance's residence as i may need to go to school in the US to be able to land a better-paying job although i have a bachelor's degree already.. ive contacted some universities/colleges and all of the them replied to my queries.

i also want to work as soon as i get myslef acclimatized in the US, but the only way i know how to work immediately is to get married the soonest possible time upon arrival so, the foreign fiancee, can apply for employment authorization. (Form 1-765)

dont worry, ur NOA2 will arrive when u are home from your vacation..
