Hello :

I got my Appointment letter last week (duplicado), the medical examination informatione was include, So They recommend to get vaccines :

1.Paperas

2.Sarampion

3.Rubeola

4.Polio

5.Tetano y Difteria

6.Toxoides tetanico y Difteria

7.Tos convulsiva

8.Influenza tipo B (HIB)

9.Hepatitis B

10.Varicela

11.Neumococica

12.Influenza

13.Rotavirus

14.Hepatitis A

15.Meningococo

it's obvious when I was a child I got most of them

Today I went to the Dra. Vibiana's office, I talk to the receptionist my first question was : Do I need to show my carnet de vacunas HEPATITIS? I got the Hepatitis vacuna , but I forgot my carnet de vacunacion, and the lady said : Hepatitis is not important for a patient like you ( they said that because my age=32).

I was sitting in her office, I heard some people talk about the vacunas are very important=

.....Influenza

.....Antitetanica

.....Varicela(If you had Varicela disease (in the past) you won't need that shot, but If you don't remember or you are not sure or never had that desease you WILL NEED the vaccine , and the cost 140 soles )

I saw a woman who gave her carnets de vacunas del ministerio de salud to the receptionist, without problems, all was good for her, especialmete because she save money .

Finaly after my examination the doctor recommend me:

ADACEL 120 soles

TRIMOVAX 50 soles

VAXIGRIP 50 soles

If you got some of them , maybe you will find them low cost

bye

good luck

My wife had her medical exam today with Dra. Viviana. Of course the exam itself was 300 soles. The Dra. recommended her to get four vaccinations that cost 280 soles. In total, every thing cost 580 soles/ 216 dollars. (2.68 soles/ 1 dollar). She obtained the 4 vaccines that were recommended to you. She must return in two weeks to get her results.

Thanks so much for the info. My wife was worried they would inject her too many times with the needle!

My fiancee went to Dra. Viviana Melichon, who from the outset pressured her to purchase vaccinations from her [Melichon] (3 vaccinations for S. 310). My fiancee paid for the exam, but refused the vaccinations. Our choice was to have the vaccinations done at the local Public Health Department in California, where they are low cost and even free based on the ability to pay. However, Melichon was unhappy with the refusal and delayed producing the report for over a month. Upon my fiancee's return to Melichon's office for the report, the staff refused to give her the report unless she bought the vaccinations, claiming a requirement. My fiancee caved in. Vaccinations are not required prior to issuance of a K1 Visa. http://www.state.gov/m/a/dir/regs/fam/09fam/index.htm (scroll down to vaccinations). See also 9 FAM 40.11 N10.5, http://www.state.gov/m/a/dir/regs/fam/09fam/index.htm. I filed a complaint with the embassy.

Other doctors in Lima have been removed from the approved list for vaccination abuse. Be careful folks.
