Hush puppies are slippers... I reckon they would be a bit dry without HP sauce

Around here, chips are, well, chips. Grippos to be exact.

And what the heck is HP sauce?

HP Sauce is the most wonderful sauce ever invented and its for chips- I mean freedom fries

I bring back 5 or 6 bottles on my trips to the UK 3 or 4 times a year. It can be bought in the US - expensive

I also bring Branston Pickle - the next most wonderful thing - for cheese - cheshire cheese - the best cheese in the world

HP SAUCE

It looks comparable to A-1 sauce. Same price too. (With shipping.)

Is it close to that or is it closer to something else?

It's different to A-1

I reckon its sweeter with a bite that isn't dry

mega with a pork chop too

Some Americans love English grub and English (Northern) beer - some don't - no predicting

My wife likes English food - especially real Cornish pasties made with cubes of potato and turnip and lamb and white pepper. I had my first in the 'the last pub in England' at the tip of land's end in Cornwall. It was two shillings and 3 pence and I can still remember it. You can sit outside and watch 34 foot basking sharks go past in the bay

such a thread drift!

I'm noticing a pattern of some OPs who like to hijaak their own topic, have it shift sideways till it's not recognizeable.

This is one of them.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I'm noticing a pattern of some OPs who like to hijaak their own topic, have it shift sideways till it's not recognizeable.

This is one of them.

It's the case that threads wear out when nobody has anything relevant left to contribute. At that point they wander off topic and people talk about cream buns or the weather or how is your back today and then they fizzle out. Sometimes its the OP and sometimes its others. The main thing is that people should not take it off topic in the first few posts - saying "another useless thread from you " or "why don't you go home if you don't like it here " or "I don't like Brits " etc etc etc

This thread had few people who actually had anything to say about IP addresses /VPN tunnels or Militia groups etc etc and so it rapidly fizzled out in the usual manner

A perfectly normal trajectory. Naturally I am a little disappointed that there were not more serious posts, but the quality of the posts that a thread attracts depends who comes on line at the time and their knowledge of the subject - so Its a lottery

If the subject of the thread had been 'Barny Frank is fat and gay', you would have seen many more 'on topic' posts, but they would not have extended your learning much either
