Hello everyone,

I am married to an Indonesian lady. I filed an I-130 and received NOA1. Still waiting for NOA2.

I want to travel back to Indonesia in a few weeks. I am sure the paperwork will not be completed and perhaps not even NOA2 before I leave. So I will need to complete and submit documents while I am in Indonesia. I will have mail set up so I can have access to notices and document requests. I can Fedex forms and paperwork from Indonesia for anything asked for too. I will have with me or have access to everything I believe they will ask for and will prepare as best I can before leaving.

My question is what kind of trouble will this cause me being in Indonesia? I realize there will be time delays but is there anything I cannot do outside of the United States or something I might have overlooked?

Thanks in advance

There should be no problems, as long as you have someone in the USA who can check your mail. Have you covered the financial support aspect, especially if you are quitting your job to go to Indonesia?

Have someone check your mail definitely, but unless you get RFE it will be weeks before you need to submit docs. Even if you get your NOA 2 tomorrow it is taking a week for NVC to receive your file and 3 more weeks on average for them to enter you in their system and send you notices and invoices. However, while you are there, make sure you have your wife sign all documents needed by the NVC and get any original docs she may have so you are prepared when NVC does ask for them. Good luch and enjoy your time there.
