Something weird with my case at NVC - suggestions?

My case was received by NVC from USCIS@CSC on November 23rd.

I called, got a case number and was told it was in processing. I call again a few days later, they say it is done processing, now it was just waiting to be sent to the embassy. Sounds normal so far.

I call again about 1.5 weeks ago (early December, maybe 1st or 2nd). They tell me it is undergoing additional processing again. I asked about the previous status, the guy on the phone said he had no idea.

A few more calls and it was always the same thing, additional processing, and no idea about why it was previously finished.

On Friday, the guy puts me on hold for 5 minutes after searching and then tells me the same thing. Today, a different fellow blurts out something about it being "under review", then he shuts up really fast and goes back on script about additional processing.

I know I am probably getting paranoid, I'm long since out of patience with this entire process, but it sounds like something is going on and the phone reps are not telling me. Based on the timelines, it should have left NVC already.

Does anyone have some suggestions on who else I could call, or what might be up?

Our case got hung up in AP at NVC for three weeks. Your case doesn't sound any different or unusual. Keep waiting.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

A friend of mine was stuck for almost 3 months at nvc but once everything was finished at the interview they received the visa within a couple of weeks after interview.. if nothing else look at it this way.. your doing ap now instead of after the interview... good luck hope it completes soon

Was this on a K1 Visa?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

We were stuck in AP for 50 days. Even though they promised several times to inform us when our case was sent on they never did. You must continue to call every few days in order to know when your case has actually been sent on.

Its frustrating but its just a delay and your case should proceed normally once released.

I thought it might be, The ones on AP on CR1's always seem to get held up a lot longer. I don't know why they do that :/

Hello ! I remember you well from then. We were 53 days when we got sent on, and I remember you were pretty close to us in time. Nice to see you :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

We received the NOA2 for our K1 on 9/30/11, and it finally got entered into the NVC system on 10/17/11 and didn't leave NVC until 10/28/11. It took an entire month from the approval date to finally transfer our petition to the Mumbai consulate. I called them every few days for updates - per their instructions and was told it was going through additional processing" which was normal and what everyone goes through" - according to someone on the phone. :bonk: So don't give up and call them!

After that I called the DOS every day for updates on our Packets 3 & 4 - we're still waiting for both but at least the DOS was able to give us an interview date over the phone 5 days ahead of official notification from the consulate (after we figured out ourselves how to get packet 3 to them). The interview letter/P4 was allegedly sent 12/5/11 --- we're still waiting  Super frustrating!
