hi, I'm a new-bee in this website and i hope to find the answers that I'm looking for. My name is Pam and i came here as an Au-Pair, then i changed my visa to a F-1 once i finished school i got married to my lovely hubby, this was back in June this year, in July i had our first baby :D

how do i start the process of changing my status? what forms do i need? Also, we are planning on traveling in January as our honeymoon but what documentation do i need to show in the airport to go thru security? i have my passport valid, my visa shows that it's expired but i have the papers from my F1 although I'm not currently studying, and i have my drivers license but it already expired, any info or advise would be greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

Follow the guidelines for AOS. Where do you plan to go for your honeymoon? From the sounds of it you have been out of status since at least June, so you can't leave the country without a green card. If you're traveling within the US you can use any unexpired government ID.

thanks for your quick reply! we are thinking about going to florida but we want to fly over there, we got an offer to go to puerto rico but we are not sure because of this situation, my drivers license expired this past april :( i was thinking maybe if i show tsa proof that im on the process of getting my GC like the receipt, will that be valid?

I'm not sure about Puerto Rico, but I know there have been some posts on it lately so you can do a search and probably get an answer. As far as FL, you can use your passport to fly if it's valid. You don't go through customs so they won't be checking your visa. If you have your NOA1 (receipt) from filing, carry that with you as that proves you are temporarily in-status again.
