Hello,

We filed the K-1 paperwork 4 months ago. My financee is considering a trip to USA with her local friend in Feburary to visit her friends sister in Utah, (they are real life friends) she will visit her in Utah and after she would visit me at my home for a little time. With no question I will meet her and we will travel around country togther.

She was here in June on a student visa, she completled her English cource and left the USA on time with no problems.

My question is - is it possible for her to obtain a tourist visa since we have started the K-1 process?? She is Russian.

Unlikely she would get approval. But some people here can give insight more than I do. I had experienced for obtain B1/B2 visa. crying.gif. Ask Garry and Alla for further information.

Hi! I actually asked a similar question with my fiance to come here after we've begun the K-1 process. Here's the responses I got: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/340256-living-situation/

Filled out the paperwork for tourist visa - it does ask if you have another visa in process we put yes and indicated K-1 -

She had interview today and was approved or 2 year tourist visa to USA.

:o

Well congratulations. Has she ever had any other foreign visas, Shengen for EU for example? Our son, an LPR, attends college in Moscow and his Russian girlfriend applied for a visa to visit during the winter break and was flatly denied. They did not even look at her considerable and strong evidence

But to answer your question (as if you did not know already) YES you can apply for a tourist visa while waiting for a K-1

Yes, she has extensive travel to Europe, at least 6 times in the last 3 years. Visited USA also in June.

She has always returned to Russia with no problems.

Needless to say we are very happy she was approved for the tourist visa.

Yep, that seems to be the key. They asked our sons girlfriend if she ever had any other foreign visa. She said "no"...DENIED. Didn't even look at her evidence.

So while Sergey comes home for the winter break she received a visa to UK to study at an intensive English program (who knew they even spoke English there?) and I think next time maybe she can get a tourist visa.

I understand the visa for English class, this is what my girl did for visit to USA.

She took a English class , she was here only on a 30 day student visa in June.

She did complete course in full when she was here.

I wish your son and his girl the best.

I may have been misunderstood. I was making a wisecrack meaning "who knew they even spoke English in UK" NM.

Good luck on your journey
