AP /passport /Embassy

I am a US citizens filed for my husband in 2009.He got his interview in 2010 and got 221 g AP may be last name Khan or he traveled alot (Within the country .No international travel).Stuck in AP for almost 1.6 yrs stil no update.Now he need his passport due to work pupose international travel.We have been requesting to embassy to release his passport since more than 2 month.But they are so cold no response at all.I talked to my congressmen and senstor they sent email for same but they wont respond to them as well.I am ready to withdraw the application so just that my spouse wont loose his job.but the fact is embassy is not responding at all through the email or phone.Is there any other option out there that can help us to resolve this issue.I will really appriciate if some1 can dirct us in the right direction.

Have you tried calling them? Do they respond to phone calls? You might get the passport back with visa on it.

Someone else on another forum had his passport with the embassy in the UK. They kept requesting the passport for travel. The embassy did not respond and all on a sudden sent back the passport with visa stamped on it. May be they had forgotten about the case and now that passport has been requested they are working to issue the visa.

Since your case is under AP for about year and a half, have you looked into filing a Writ of Mandamus?
