A Modest Proposal For Immigration: The $100,000 Green Card

One mans slave labor is another mans treasure.

IE what you think is slave labor is the Guatemalan/Nicaraguan/Mexican (fill in Central American country) dream...

$300 to $400 a week cash = Good Money!

Do we or don't we have labor laws in this country for a reason? I wasn't born yesterday and I'm not buying into the bs lie that this country needs slave labor to keep afloat. That's the giant lie being told in this country by people that make fat off of slave labor...the same sort of people that owned slaves in the 18th century.

Now when those workers stay around and have babies in this country they get a free ride on the immigration process in the form of "anchor babies".

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

So what do you think about Alabama's tough immigration laws that barely lasted a few months before they realized it was a huge mistake. Now all that these 18th century minded people can do is pray:

http://www.waaytv.com/news/local/story/Hundreds-Gather-in-Ft-Payne-for-Immigration/7gwa-eRLd0ek6GxKrsylkg.cspx

.

When the implementation proved that influential foreign execs (Hello Herr Mercedes) aren't perfect and pay no heed to their legal immigration responsibilities, they get cold feet over some parts of their legislation. No-one is perfect. It did prove that the pro-illegals racial profiling claims were a bunch of carp, but that got missed is the furore over a Mercedes exec getting arrested for forgetting his immigration paperwork.

Thing is, the administration is right about one thing - immigration should be the responsibility of the Federal Government, not the states. Where they are wrong is that the Federal Government is currently abrogating their responsibility, leaving the states to assemble an disparate patchwork of laws. This country needs, and, overwhelmingly, wants the Federal Government to enforce the laws already on the books and to enact legislation to make those businesses profiteering from the cheap labor in this country illegally. If enough states push through their own legislation, and if the Supreme Court takes the case and decides in favour of Arizona, the Federal Government, be it this administration or the next, may have little choice but to start enforcing immigration law, or delegating its enforcement to the states.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

The farmers and businesses in Alabama are not going to be outdone by other business in other states that ignore laws, exploit people and hire illegal immigrants. This needs to be done at the national level as described above so there is no advantage for one state over another. Simple as that. It would have been like Alabama outlawing slavery and the rest of the south keeping slaves. Who is going to buy more expensive Alabama cotton?

We make laws to protect workers, minimum wage, medicare, Social Security, OSHA, workman's comp, child labor laws. Let Newt Gingrich suggest allowing children, students, to clean a school and we hear HOWLS of how we are abusing children...yet employers avoid ALL laws and regulations by hiring illegals and that is OK???? Anyone that says so is a racist pig.

The fact is NO POLITICIAN wants to eliminate illegal aliens because they could do it tomorrow if they wanted to. 90% of the illegal aliens would be gone within 30 days. Problem solved. Millions of new jobs paying at least minimum wage and probably with benefits before long. The employers would HAVE TO offer whatever it took to hire and retain employees just like other employers do. Your produce will cost more, get over it. The only reason it is cheaper now is because humans are being abused to make it cheap.

This, and ONLY this, will work. Illegals are here for economic reasons, because they are CHEAP because they can ve exploited, abused, underpaid and they cannot complain. They are NOT here because they are the best roofers or lettuce pickers or dishwashers. They have no superhuman powers or abilties and most do not even speak the language well. They are here because they are CHEAP and the RISK of hiring them is far less than the BENEFIT to the employer.

Simply REVERSE that, make the risk greater than the benefit and VOILA! Problem solved. No employer would have any desire to hire an illegal for anything. Nothing else is needed. All other issues become moot. We do not need to worry about birthright citizenship, education for illegals, fences, or any such nonsense. All become moot points when there are -0- jobs offered for illegals.

So what makes it slave labor is the amount of hours in the boiling sun and the strenuous work? What do you think they get paid, $2 a day? That is in their home country. Even here, what you call slave labor is actually a good $300 to $400 a week! That's great!

Why do you think they leave their families in the dust and depart their homelands, and risk their lives trying to come here?

I don't care what their reasons are for leaving their country. What I care about is this countries immigration and labor laws being upheld by the people entrusted in that job. That's what I care about.

I other words I give a sh*t about the country I live in including the standard of living of it's legal citizens including my family and their children after them. Crazy eh?

Why would anyone believe such dignities are not for brown people?

Maybe the people who care more about the citizens of other countries more than they care about the country and it's inhabitants that they choose to reside ie USA, should hop the next plane to whatever 3rd world country and do all they can to help those people instead of promoting laws that hurt the citizens and life style including but not excluding the standard of living for the legal citizen of the United States of America.

Also I think these people could look more into why these countries are so fckd up to begin with. Culture, religion, customs, superstitions, etc... do we need this ####### in the US taking us down to the level of a 3rd world country? I should hope not.

Are their employers paying into workman's comp? Social security? Medicare? Are they in compliance with OSHA. FMLA? ADA? Wage and hour laws for overtime, FUI, SUI?

Don't make me laugh. It is foolish to even suggest they are paying people the same amount as legal employees PLUS all the payroll tax and insurance and then putting up with employees that cannot even communicate well. They are here because they are CHEAP, they are CHEAP because the employers are avoiding things they are required to pay BY LAW. They are CHEAP ENOUGH to offset the disadvantage of language.

Again, it does not matter that they WANT to do this. We may have many Americans willing to work for less than minimum wage but they cannot, They may be willing to work without FUI and SUI or WC, but they cannot. Children cannot work dangerous jobs even if they want to because we made LAWS to protect peoples lives and provide for dignified treatment, to be treated as humans should be treated. Just because they are accustomed to being abused in 3rd world countries does not mean we can allow it here.

anyone suggesting that is a racist pig.

I know people here who work 7 days a week, 12 hrs a day at Dunkin' Donuts and don't get paid overtime. In the cases that I am personally aware of, the owner owns several shops and pays them with three separate checks, each from a different dba account. No overtime. They are afraid to stay home if they are really sick because someone else will get their hours. If asked to work an extra shift, if they refuse, their hours get cut and all the extra time is given to someone else. I know guys working as painter who are scraping and sanding lead paint with no protection at all. They are being taken advantage of and allowing themselves to be taken advantage of.

The owners should be sent to prison and the workers should be deported immediately. This is tragic.

Who can complain? Illegal workers do not even "exist" they are "not present" in the USA. How can a government agency cherry pick laws to enforce? It is OK to employ them and not pay the taxes but not OK to give them a dust mask? Seriously?

People who are against enforcing our labor laws, passed over decades of hard work to protect people are racists, pure and simple. They are abusing a class of people to allow greater profit to business and corporations and provide themselves with cheap stuff. It is revolting.

The craziest thing about this is if you aoopose the abuse of these people, the people who promote their abuse call you a "racist" The people who most strongly support worker protections are the first to look away.

Why would you want to enforce the rules AFTER the fact, incur expenses for deportation, court cases for the businesses when you can simply make it economical suicide to even consider hiring them in the first place?

A TAX requires no court case. The IRS can seize your property without a court order. The IRS is the most efficient collection agency in the world. Use it! You padlock a few businesses and I promise you, NO ONE will hire an illegal. No jobs, they ALL walk back. Free the slaves.

This is the face of illegal immigration.

Not to mention hundreds of people DEAD being smuggled into this country by "coyotes" making huge profits to provide human grist for the mill. Not to mention workers having their earnings taken from them to pay for their translport to this wonderful place, women being used as sex slaves to pay their "debt" people living 30 to a house with one toilet, going to laundry mats for entertainment.

How is it different than going to west Africa and packing ships to the gunnels with slaves? Is it different because it is a semi-trailer full of people? How are the corrals of humans at Home Depot any different than a slave auction? Contractors arrive, all eager to save the $$$ by not having to comply with basic human dignity laws and look over the livestock, then offer a price for the day, haggling with a broker who takes a cut and "renting" some humans for the day. At least slave owners were responsible for their property. These people just use them and toss them away.

And if they get hurt? Who pays for that? The employer? Are you serious? They suddenly do not know who this guy is, who IS he anyway? I never saw him, does he even have ID? Who pays for that?

This could be ended today, very easily, very simply, very efficiently.
