Hello!

I received my K1 visa and passed POE 5 days ago.Visajourney recommended to go apply for SSN the very next morning,We actually wait 3 hole days to apply but the social security officer advised us that we had the proper documentation to get the SSN, but they also advised that since INS had not recorded the fact that I entered the country with my I-94,until that is completed i would have to wait 4 weeks to get my SSN. (they said i should of waited at least 10 days)

1'Has anyone else had this problem?

2.Is there a way to call and check if i can get the SSN fast or i need to wait till they send it in mail?

Since my ID card and my school that i hope to attend in january, both required me to have SSN, does anyone know a way to expedite the process?

Thanks!

You just gotta wait until you are in the system. But it only takes a few weeks from POE. And no, you cannot make it go faster. Wait another 5 days or so and check again,

Finally I received the SSN yesterday

The process took kind of 4 weeks and yes, before you go to apply for it u must wait at least 10 days, so your information will be in the system.

Happy New Year to all of you and good luck!

Yay ! No SAVE database issues on you. You Rock! (and stuff)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
