What about the CFO certificate which was stapled in your passport, and also the CFO stamp in your passport? Are they still there? If they are still in your passport, you will want to make sure that they are in transferred to your new passport if possible. You will need the CFO stamp in order to fly to the U.S. If you have not already attended the CFO seminar, then it's not an issue.

Also, I believe St. Lukes stamps passports upon completion of the medical. I doubt if you need that stamp in order to board your flight and to pass through your POE, but you might want to find out if the DFA can attach that page to your new passport.

I hope you can get this all straightened out before February 1 because, after that, it's my understanding that you will be required to pay the visa fee again.

What's the best time to call the embassy? Their line is always busy when I try to reach them. But I have emailed them my concern, it takes around 7 days for them to reply to email inquiries.

So I applied for an e-passport replacement today. The officer at the embassy warned me that it usually takes longer to replace a mutilated e-passport. This is so depressing.

There must be a way for you to expedite the passport replacement. Explain the situation to DFA and get it

expedited for additional fee. Let them know it is a must that you're able to leave prior to Feb 1, 2012. Good luck!

hi, any idea about expediting passport processing??? i need it so bad too (im 7mos prego and i already have my ticket and medical clearance that i will travel to US on the 23rd) BUt embassy said they will not send me my visa untill i will send my new passport to them or elses its gonna be more risky if the immigration will deny me because of the defective passport

have you tried talking to the director? i heard we can ask to expedite we will just bring old passport, medical Appointment, Interview Appointment, letter or notice from embassy and make a letter of request to expedite stating the reason why and attach the proof... i will try tomorrow..

I applied for rush processing for the replacement of the mutilated e-passport here at the DFA regional office in our province. I did not attach any proof of the K1 visa. Not sure how expediting the passport works. I am in a state of panic right now because of what happened. Th expected release date of the passport is January 4, 2012. I wonder if I should call DFA now about my plight or wait until January 4. My visa expires Feb 1, 2012. I have emailed the embassy, but I will probably receive a reply from them next week. Their phone line is always busy when I tried calling. Please keep me updated just in case you are able to talk to the director.

I always could get thru the USEM line (02-301-2000 ext 5184/5185) after lunch usually 1pm-130pm. So try to call around that time.. And if I may ask, which province are you from sis?..I have once underwent that process of mutilated passport here in Davao,because of Ondoy (LOL) sadly it is considered as renewal..I had it rushed for 28days but it still went thru for 33-35 days but that was when the DFA manila who does all the printing was under some technical problems..it will help you if you would talk to someone from the DFA who could actually help you for expedited process..May God bless you sis

I was able to call the US Embassy and I was told to go there during business hours, 10 AM at Window 38. She said I had to go through the interview process again and pay the visa fee. I am so sad right now. I was hoping that it will just be reprinted.
