We just got our NOA2 and like all of you who have had this experience or just received theres as well we are very excited and we want to do everything ASAP. Is there a checklist that details all of the documents we will need to prepare or do we just have to wait to we get the request from the embassy. I have seen the K1 checklist but it doesn't go in detail about each and every document.

Go to Warsaw Embassy site. They have all the forms you would get in packet 3 and 4 available as well as instructions, doctors for the medical exam, etc. In fact, you do not even have to wait to receive packet 3 in the mail, you can download and follow instructions. You can follow up (search for 'DHL trick' here to find out how to tell when your approval hits the Embassy). You will need to know your NVC case number to be able to complete the forms.

At this point, given the time of the year and date of the month, I think it would be hard to be scheduled for an appointment in January. Assuming you can get the forms in packet 3 to the Embassy (by downloading from web site) this coming week -which is very possible by the way-, with the Holidays coming, it leaves barely enough time to have your appointment scheduled for January. It will depend largely on whether the Embassy personnel is fully operational; K-1s are not really high in their priorities. There is a free number to call in Warszawa specifically for K-1s (listed in the web site). Maybe you can talk them into moving your application. They schedule the entire month in the last week of the prior month. I'd say that at worst, you would have your interview in February, assuming of course you get all the requirements completed.

The other issue is we just got the approval of the NOA2 on December 8th, 2011.

We are planning on moving out of Germany and going to my Fiances home city next Monday. We do have our contract to the end of this month however for the place in Germany.

Should we change our address now or would it be wiser to just let it come to Germany and pick up the documents?

NVC will send petition to appropriate Embassy, which would be in Germany in your case, and in that case, you can then request change of Embassy. If on the other side, they send it to Warsaw, then change the address then. Since you are moving soon (today), then I think it would be best to contact NVC to route the petition to the correct Embassy. As I said earlier, you don't really need to wait for the packet 3 be mail delivered; you can download from web site and send. I'd call the Warsaw Embassy to at the very least make them aware of this change and see what they recommend to do to make it as easy as possible.

Congrats on your NOA2. We received our on the 6 of Dec. I actually called NVC last night and they gave me our WRW#. Seeing you are two day's after us they may have it today. I am just waiting to hear from Kinga if they can set a date for the interview without receiving the packet from NVC. So you still may have a chance for your interview in Jan.
