Hey everyone! So I have my interview on Monday and starting to think about POE/flights etc...

I will be flying from London but what if I cannot get a direct flight to my destination in the US and must have a stop over? I understand POE is the FIRST airport when you enter the US but what if I have to get a connecting flight?

How do I know how long the stop over has to be for documentation etc because most times between flights are NOT 4/5 hours

HELP!

Some port may be quick, and some may take the time. You may read the reviews, so you can get an expected timeline idea.

In case if you miss the connection flight, but they may accommodate you in their next flight, but it really depends up to flight company.

Give yourself enough time in between flights to allow for this. I agree with iwaiting, read the reviews for your POE, it might give you a better idea of how long a process it is. It's a busy time of year to fly in general.

Here's a thread from a day or two ago which has some good answers:

I had a 45 minute layover in Japan which didn't cause me any issues. Stop overs in other countries aside from the US won't take long since you are only going to do some security stuff and no documentations (because you're not going to that country).

Stop over in the US where you needed to submit documentations and do biometrics takes about 10 minutes. Sometimes it would take to an hour if there are long queues and another hour to get your bags so all in all about 2-3 hours. But you can tell an airport staff that you have a flight to catch and maybe they will prioritize you.
