My wife recently became a naturalized US Citizen and will be filing for both of her parents.

My question is in regards to the I-864 affidavit of support.

Is this paperwork sent in with the I-130 to NVC or does the I-864 come later in the paperwork her parents will take to the US Consulate in Vietnam when they are granted an interview?

Is an I-864 required for each I-130 filed (1 for her mother; 1 for her father)?

I read through 10 pages of posts on here and couldn't seem to find an answer. The guide didn't indicate when the I-864 was to be filed.

Thanks in advance for help!

Hello there, I can help you saying that the I-864 you will be filing after NOA 2 is approved and the case is sent to NVC processing....The process will take it is on way step by step you just need keep reading to understand better how it works!! Regarding filing individual I-864 I'm almost sure that is the right way to do it because which parent will have a separate process...but I'm not sure 100%!! Keep reading...reading and reading!!

Best of luck

You only need ONE set of I-864 for all I-130s.

Documents will be sending along with I-130 are your wife Birth Certificate showing both her parents' names,

and form G-1145 for e-notification.

You may have to wait up to 6 months for your I-130 approval.

As benuk said, I-864 will be on second step once you get your I-130 approval.
