hello to everyone, im here to clarify things for my friend, she had an unpaid credit card and loan in citi financial, but no case were filed to her, her question is,do u think this will affect her k1 application?please share your views do she can be enlighten naman..thank you in advance for all the replies.

It will not affect her. The only way it could is if the amount is so high that she gets convicted of something serious (fraud etc).

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

This is partly True. It will not affect the Petition whatsoever. But, the debt getting high on a Credit Card is not Fraud unless the holder of the Card is in Bankruptsy and getting pre-pared to File and running that Card up on purpose with INTENT to never pay the Purchases. Laws have changed and this is not allowed anymore. Non the less, the lending institutuion in this case took a chance and a defualt occured. Does not affect Immigration.

USCIS Does not run Credit Checks.

The thing they look for is DO YOU OWE THE IRS and a Lien Owed to The Goverment is Filed in an Action against the Petitioner.

10/03/14.....Biometrics
01/07/15.....Received my EAD card

01/31/15..... I got my SSN from the mail

04/20/15......AOS Interview - Approved :star:

4/24/15 .......Got the Driving Permit Card

4/30/15 .......Green Card Received :) (Exp.4/20/17)
