This is the affidavit that I made for my husband's mother. Is it okay? I just changed the names

December 09, 2011

LOLA SMITH

555 MALIBU

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Evidence in support of a Bona fide marriage between KATE, Applicant, and ISAAC, Beneficiary

The following is to certify that I, LOLA, residing at the above noted address, born on January 25, 1969, have been aware of their relationship since May of 2010. I am the birth mother of ISAAC.

When he first told me about KATE, he told me she was just a friend that he had made on facebook and that he really liked her due to her personality and was hoping that she could visit our home in Buenos Aires, Argentina next year in May of 2011. I didn’t give him an answer until December of 2010. We were celebrating Christmas in our home and he was online wishing her a happy holiday and then came rushing to the room to tell me that he asked her to be his girlfriend on December 25, 2010. I could tell by his reaction that he truthfully had strong feelings for her so I told him that it would be great if she came to Argentina.

Since she didn’t arrive until May of 2011, they still kept talking through Yahoo Messenger. Months later, KATE arrived at Ezeiza Airport, and was picked up by son ISAAC. It wasn’t until later that night that I finally met her in person. She stayed in our home since then.

As the days passed, I saw a part of my son that I haven’t seen in years. He was always in a great mood when he was with her. He took her to a restaurant that he and his deceased grand father went to every weekend. He treated her like a queen everyday and planned her the best birthday. KATEwas turning nineteen years old on July 9 and ISAAC saved up money for a month to take her to an amusement park in Argentina and on a boat ride. My son has never been so caring for a girl. His friends, family, and most importantly I, could see how much they both loved each other.

It wasn’t until three days later that they announced their marriage to me while having dinner. I was shocked but also happy for them both. I only had a week and a few days to plan their wedding but I did. They got married by court on July 25, 2011 and I signed as a witness along with my son’s best friend.

KATE had to leave Argentina on July 31,2011 due to a family emergency but arrived back with my son two weeks later on August 17,2011. KATE has been living in my home with my son since May 24,2011, aside from the two weeks she left.

I would have never thought that my son’s soul mate would be so far away, but I know that their love will forever grow and that they will one day have a great family. This affidavit is being made by me for the purpose of circumventing immigration laws.

Any questions please feel free to contact me at 000-000-00

Sincerely

LOLA SMITH

Ohhh, like you're just using it as a template? Well if that's the case then I would just take out that last part. If I'm kind of understanding things right whoever put that example up put in that last part to be cheeky and catch people out (maybe?). Anyway, you are clearly NOT circumventing immigration laws if you have petitioned/are petitioning for an I-130.

so Ryan its good to go like this?

It's good to go when you take out this sentence, "This affidavit is being made by me for the purpose of circumventing immigration laws. " and she signs it.
