Does anyone know if you can do a service request on a file that's at a local office?

I'll join the year-long club. It'll be 1 year on June 21st for me. Granted, I was able to take a vacation with our then 5 month old to see my husband for a week this past March...

I'm not certain, but I don't think it would hurt to ask. That said, if it were my case was at the local office, I'd pay them a visit in person. Just set up an appointment with Infopass on the USCIS website.

hi guys!! i don't know what happen but my husband got an email from NVC and we have a case number..unbelievable...i cried when i got the email...i;m so happy..so thankful to God...one month less of waiting for a case number...i hope this happens to the rest of the dec filers too..the waiting really got me so depressed and frustrated...i don't know who made this possible but my husband did asked his senator and congressman for assistance..and an SR was generated too....hoping for some good news from my fellow dec filers...so we can all join the june nvc thread :) goodluck and Godbless to us

You can also go to www.house.gov and put your zip in the upper right corner to get your Representative. It won't hurt to get as many politicians involved as you can. As long as you are outside "Normal processing time", (5 months) they can help you. The key word being "Can". Whether or not they will is another story. So far my Rep., Brian Higgins, and one of my Senators, Charles Schumer, haven't done anything for me. I did get an answer to a question I never asked though. Haha. You have to love politicians. <He says sarcastically> I guess I'll try my other Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand next.

I posted a response like that, but it I am still waiting for the NOA2. I received my letter from May 8, saying within 60 days. 34 days today, nothing yet.

My wife got her B1/B2 re-approved a couple weeks ago. She came in last night and will be staying tentatively for 2 months. Unless approval takes longer...then she'll stay longer. At least now, at this point, I'm in a win-win situation. She's either with me, we get approval soon and the paper shuffle prior to the interview done quickly...she just goes home early for the interview, and soon enough she'll be with me permanently. Or the approval keeps dragging on and on, she stays here for up to 6 months on her tourist visa. If it takes an additional 6 months for approval, then there is something truly wrong with the whole process.
