i guess it means that they'll check whoever should be working on our case and have it prioritized as it has exceeded the time frame..more like them saying 'ooppss we forgot your case, we will check it now'... omg.. i can't contain my frustration over this process:( i dread to recieve an email from them saying callback if you can't hear after 45 days.. which would most likely happen..

45 days? they told me if i dont hear anything after 15 days to call back.. :/

15 days is just to reply to your service request. Reply does not mean a decision. It could say that your petition is being actively processed. Call back if you don't hear anything after 45/60 days. If you are very lucky then you will receive NOA2 during that time frame.

No, I think it's just a generic term that means they are now actually looking at it. Which is a good thing. I'm looking at it like it is a step beyond "Initial Review". My only problem with it is that 60 days puts me at 7 months for approval, rather than the 5 months that it should have been done in. October, November and December are the three slowest/lowest volume months for new petitions...they should be done with those filers even quicker, not take longer.

I certainly hope so! My Representative is looking into it...again. The staffer told me they should hear something back from their request by Wednesday. Of course that could just be the same response of, "under review" I received from the VSC. My wife is from Venezuela. I need her to get up here before Chavez succumbs to cancer. Rumor has it, he is end stage. If he passes before she gets the green card, what happens next is anyone's guess. It could be civil war. It could be full military lock-down. I shudder to think...

I hope you realize Vermont is really backed up now because of all the protected status cases.

I wouldn't be surprised if your case is on hold until they finish up most of those cases.

best of luck to you.
