If your Senator finds time to help you, an inquiry is sent to USCIS and they have like 48 hours to respond. Thus they have to look into your petition which they would not have otherwise till the fat lady sings. Of course they can tell us anything they fancy but Senator is something else

Google is your best friend. Search for your Senator or Congressman. Scan and email your NOA1 and other case details to them and request assistance.

Only you would know if it is worth or not as I am not in your shoes.

Go to http://www.senate.gov and click on "Senators." You will then see three drop down menus at the top of the page, the one on the far left says "Choose a State." Use that menu to select your State and you will see the two Senators for your State. You will be able to click on the links to their pages and you will be able to contact them through their pages.

So people contact them if they are over the 5 mon. period, Im just not to sure, i did google and got the info for it, but i guess people contact them for diff. reasons... i guess i want to get info?

No, we're waiting for out case # from the NVC.

I called today and also got the same answer. They are asking to wait for 15 business days to have our file in their system. Looks like NVC is getting bombarded with lot of approvals in last few months and causing them to slow down their process.

It looks like you are in the same boat I am. My NOA1 was on 12/05/2011. I've contacted my Congressman, and he/his staff was useless. I also contacted my Senator via mail, but mail and email are ineffective. You have to call. I'm in the middle of a major application upgrade at work, so finding time to call during business hours is nearly impossible. But, if you or your significant other can call your Senator's office, they'll need you to fill out a release authorization so they can act on your behalf.

Tell them why you are contacting them, be as brief and to the point as possible, because they do NOT read. My Congressman got me two answers to questions I never asked, and already knew the answers to. They'll need your case number, the petitioner's name and status (US Citizen), the beneficiary's name. Tell them that you are "outside normal processing time". Ask them to look into your case for you, and see if they can expedite the approval.

I have to do all of this myself...again. Today is 176 days and counting, waiting for the "approval". My wife is renewing her b1/b2 visa, just so she can visit the US during this absurdly long process. She may be denied the renewal, but we're trying everything. It's beyond ridiculous at this point.

oh ok, thank you yeh i dont understand why all of a sudden they wanna be all over the place with pentions. it seems like alot of people are gettin expedites or something, not sure. but hopefully both of us will get it soon <3
