My wife (USC) has our NOA2. I don't think she has heard anything from the NVC yet. She has not called them.

Of the two of us, I am the one who (seems to) know more about the process. She has not read the guides on here as carefully as I have. We have a Skype date later tonight and I thought I would take some time to bring her up to date on how the process works and explain that even at this early stage of the NVC process, there are things we can do that will help speed up the processing of our petition.

No problem. I am USC (Petitioner) and not letting my wife to have any pressure to learn about this long waiting I-130 process. I just ask her to provide me documents that I need from her as a beneficiary. Let's hope NVC works quickly from here.

No problem. I am USC (Petitioner) and not letting my wife to have any pressure to learn about this long waiting I-130 process. I just ask her to provide me documents that I need from her as a beneficiary. Let's hope NVC works quickly from here.

Although I am not at NVC stage just yet, have not even received NOA2 but I have little confusion.

After case goes to NVC, AOS is sent to them and then they require original documents.

Shall I send my original birth certificate, marriage and divorce certificate to my wife (USC petitioner) as she will be the agent of choice. My confusion is also about Police Certificate.

I have lived in Singapore for 7 years and I wrote to Singapore Police about Police Certificate. They wrote back stating that I need a letter from appropriate authority who require that letter. It means I cannot apply for it until I have a letter from NVC or embassy. Then I will also need a Police certificate from Pakistan where I am living right now. Certificate here is valid only for 1 month. If I submit it to NVC, by the time I go for interview at embassy, that letter would have expired. Should I wait till I receive interview letter and only then apply for police certificate?

CONGRATS !!!!!! to all the new NOA2 members. Just some advice from my experience, now that your going into the NVC phase of this, make sure you get all your papers perfect so you dont get any RFE's. NVC can be a nightmare, I have seen people get stuck at NVC for over a year. Good Luck yall and GOD Bless

Did you call them during their operating hours? hmm I don't remember which option I entered, but selected an option where it asked to enter case number and eventually got an option to talk to a representative to get more information. I called only once so don't remember exact option numbers I entered at that time.

If you call up the NVC to get your case no. they say to wait for 15 days.

If you look at recent NOA2 approvals, then you will see it took almost a month to get file forwarded from CSC to NVC system. But it never hurts to keep calling NVC until their system has generated a case number for you. I just got my NOA2 email on Friday and I am planning to start calling them from this Thursday.

Our 1-130 was approved may 4th we just got the letter. i wonder how long the nvc part will take and also how much longer until we get her visa? Also......im not sure what to do next.....just wait?

I would recommend to get all AOS and IV package documents ready now, so you won't have to spend time on preparing these documents when your file has reached at NVC office. Don't wait till the last moment until NVC has sent you a mail notification to send these documents.

First of all check these two things:

1. Call NVC to find out if they want PCC from Singapore and Pakistan or they need only PCC from your present country of permanent residence where your consulate interview will be conducted.

2. Verify with your USA embassy in Pakistan about PCC validity period. Mumbai Consulate in India considers PCC valid for 1 year from the date of issuance.

Hope this helps.

What's your NOA1 priority date? I would recommend to wait for 5 months to complete. I got my NOA2 one week before reaching 5 months mark. Stay positive if your file does not have any complications. You may see people on VJ complaining about taking to long to take NOA2 but it also depends on your previous marriage history, criminal records, your beneficiary's previous marriage or criminal history if applicable etc.

Patience is your best friend. I know it's easy for me to say, for someone who has his/her NOA2 to say, but the best thing to do IMO is try to keep your mind in line, so to speak. Don't think negative thoughts and don't get ahead of yourself. Stay positive.
