I went to an infopass today who said my case is at the local office pending approval based on interview. I left my daughters birth cert with them that has mine and my husband's names on it (he was in immigration jail when she was born so he couldn't sign as the father at the time). They said they'll pull my file and if it's an "easy" case they'll call me in the next couple of weeks. If not then I have to wait to be scheduled. Looks like I'm in for another two months on the i130, in addition to the 6-8 months for the i601 and the 4-8 weeks in NVC.

And, my grandfather passed away this morning, which, I didn't learn until my mom called me at 1.30, about 30 minutes after I left my infopass.

My wife and I received our NOA2 (4th May) almost 5 months to the day since our NOA1 in December.

The text and email service works like a charm. I was awoken by my wife at 5am to say she's received a text from USCIS to say our petition had been approved.

Unfortunately the NVC automated service is no longer in service. Human beings only now.

We've been told to wait 15 days for the transfer of case to NVC. You can always send an email to the NVC as well to get a case update.

i just updated my address to and the lady at uscis, said they will also send a text or email to you. but just check your old address just to make sure. this is what she told me to do. i dont think it would be a prob. tho.

hey friends i make change of address yesterday, online on uscis, and my noa2 date is nearby as i am also december filer...so do i have to wait more due to change of address? i am worried..please help..

I hope it does too, but very unlikely. I changed address a couple weeks ago - got an update in the post last week. Noa2 was due on Monday, still havent had it. The two things are independent. Noa2 involves reviewing the case - address update takes 2 mins.

Wishful thinking

If updating address takes only 2 minutes but it takes them 2 weeks to send you the notice for it then can only imagine how long they will want to take for actually reviewing the case and sending notice for it. :face palm:

:rofl: have you got your file forwarded to NVC? Did your wife called them? I heard that NVC is taking about 3 to 4 weeks now to just get your file into their system.

My wife (USC) has our NOA2. I don't think she has heard anything from the NVC yet. She has not called them.

Of the two of us, I am the one who (seems to) know more about the process. She has not read the guides on here as carefully as I have. We have a Skype date later tonight and I thought I would take some time to bring her up to date on how the process works and explain that even at this early stage of the NVC process, there are things we can do that will help speed up the processing of our petition.
