It's hard not to freak out when all other Decembers are pouring in and yours hasn't. :( I can't imagine how the remaining Nov stragglers feel!!

Stay positive. For most of us, one day you look at your phone and the text message/email arrives that you've been approved (assuming you've set that up on the USCIS website).

We got our NOA2 about a week under 5 months. Soon you'll be worrying about DS-230 and I-864. Prepare for that and know that you'll (hopefully) be together before the end of the year. :)

I still have the i601 to go through and have already been separated for 10.5 months from my husband :(

I know exactly how you feel. I feel the same way. I last saw my wife July 2nd last year. The waiting is very tough emotionally. My patience was wearing very thin a week or a month ago. Like I've said before, I think the closer you get to the light at the end of the tunnel, the tougher it gets to wait and wait and not know anything. :(:P

Wow - cant believe you havent seen your wife for almost a year! Sorry.

I was saying to my wife that we should thank god for Skype and email - this would be so much worse without it

Thank you. ^_^

Hmm. Maybe I should have been more clear. We chat on MSN daily and we often talk on Skype. I often stay up late and we talk while she's on her way home from work, and we try to get at least one Skype session in every weekend. I just haven't seen her in person since early July last year.

Skype in my personal opinion may be the greatest invention ever! To be honest, I owe a lot to the developers of the program. If it hadn't been for them, I may not have been married today, as I am sure it would have been a thousand times harder to maintain a long-distance relationship without being able to talk to and see my wonderful, wonderful wife.

Yeah no I get that you see her online - Be impossible otherwise.

My wife and I were apart for three months last year - which was awful and now 4 months this year. All because of visas.. It's sad.

Still waiting NOA 2, priority date was two days ago.........

The waiting sucks so bad.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't think it helps to project frustrations on the USCIS or CSC or whatever. I for one do not think they purposely make people wait longer than necessary. That kind of thinking wouldn't make me happier, if anything it would probably only make me more frustrated. Call me naive, but I do think they are working as fast as they can while being professional and doing their job. In a way I guess the US doesn't actually have to let me in the country, so I am grateful that they will (hopefully they will I should say, as I have not been granted a visa yet).

Just my $.02.

ADD: Oh and just to be clear, I don't mean you, MBA, projected any frustration on the USCIS. I've seen other people do it and I just don't see things that way.

True. They have a lot to process.

I'm frustrated with them b/c I requested expedite, they entertained the notion, I sent all my evidence (this was 17 days ago) and I still haven't heard anything. Meanwhile there are people who have end of month NOA1's who are getting approved and it's like "####### why am I still waiting!?" They sent my petition to another office but not even the Tier 2's can give synced answers (ie; one says "fairfax" the other says "NBC")... *sigh* the anxiety is killing me and all I want to know is whether or not I need to mentally prepare for an interview about "bonafide marriage" b/c husband was in immigration jail when we were married. I'd like to know if I have to mentally prepare for an ADDITIONAL 2 months of processing time -- which will be added on to the 4-8 weeks in NVC and the 7 - 8 months for the i601 processing we still have to go through.

If you have to wait 30 days after the deadline to file a request with csc - the deadline is really 6 months not 5?

Congrats on people with noa2 already!

There really is absolutely no point in ever calling the helpline - they only know what's on the online status. It's basically a device for those without the internet right ?
