The misinformation line operators are reading from a script. When they say they are processing a certain date, that means that date represents the oldest case still in their system. Those cases have been delayed for one reason or another. On a given day, petitions for a range of dates are completed, not just from one day.

That makes sense to me.

When my wife called on May 2nd (the day our application was actually approved!) they said the same thing, that they were working on applications from November 15, so I thought maybe it's a way for them to buy themselves some time, so to speak (and not have to deal with as many people calling 24/7). But it can be one (or a few) of a whole bunch of different reasons, I really have no idea.

I am sure though that they are not deliberately spreading misinformation to mess with people. I'd rather assume the opposite, that they are doing their best to help themselves AND the people who are applying for residency.

Who the Hell calls at 12:20 at night!?!

It was Melissa who told me she'd received a letter in the mail from the USCIS, saying that THEY HAVE APPROVED OUR APPLICATION AND ARE FORWARDING OUR CASE TO THE NATIONAL VISA CENTER FOR FURTHER PROCESSING, PREPARATION FOR THE INTERVIEW AT THE EMBASSY etc.

Wow. How am I supposed to go to sleep now? Love you, my wonderful Melissa! <3

PS. I updated my timeline.... I think. I'm a little too tired/excited to think straight right now.

Oh my god, what a strange day. My wife found out today she lost the baby; she was having a lot of difficulties and the doctor confirmed today.

Then I get to work and receive the text from USCIS, so I rush to check the website. Approved yesterday.

if petitions are sitting in csc for months until someone can attend to it, why don't csc hire more people? perhaps people who wants their petitions approved faster will pay more for a 2-month processing.. enough $$ to pay for those additional

people hired.. #justathought .. the waiting really sucks.. and it sucks more knowing that csc wasted months for petitions to just sit in the corner i'm losing my cool about this..sigh

The waiting gets harder the closer you get. A week ago I was going slightly mad. Now that we finally have our NOA2 I feel like I'm on top of the world.

I know it may not help much, and I know myself very well that's a lot easier to say so once you're "on the other side"... but try not to worry about it. It will be OK, just stay patient.

Oh and I'm very sorry to hear the sad news Ted. Glad you got some good news as well. But it must indeed be a weird feeling.
