If you don't mind me asking , is there any reason why you think yours was done quicker ? If they're still doing November why would they do a mid-dec ? Have you been married a long time , what country are you coming from?

Thanks! We're married for almost 4 years now with a son who is 2 years old (who is also included in the I130 petition). I am from the Philippines & after the I130, he also filed for K3 visa to show the USCIS that he badly needs us to be with him...LOL...another thing is he visited us last April, he was here for 2 weeks... (L)

12/16/2011 - received hardcopy of NOA1

01/04/2012 - filed I129F for K3

01/06/2012 - NOA1 for K3

Congrats! I saw on the VJ Immigration Timelines three of my NOA1 date (12/12) have been approved. :)

Being married that long and having a child together is what did it. Congrats !!!!!

K-3 and visits dont really matter.

You think my wife being pregnant might move things along? I know it's not grounds to expedite ,but maybe a little priority / urgency?

AFAIK I-130 does not have any field to say your wife is pregnant. So how will they know about your situation?

It won't unfortunately. The petitions are handled on a first come first serve basis (or so they're supposed to). Unless there are grounds to expedite, it's basically "wait your turn."

That's not the case as we have seen, some are dealt with before others, you can see that in the dates of people's approvals on igor's list - its not strictly first come first served.

Cover letter

USCIS must be doing some type of sorting and placing files in different queues when issuing NOA1. Some queues may have less applications and some may have more so we see approvals ranging almost in 45 days (I see mostly between November 1st to December 12th now). This is my assumption only.

I doubt cover letter makes a difference but who knows what USCIS/CSC is looking at in our file :)
