December 2011 IR-1/CR-1 USCIS Filers

My wonderful darling wife called today (she called me on the phone now, half an hour ago) and they told her that the California Service Center is currently working on applications from November 15. I think our NOA1 is December 1st or 3rd or something like that. My wife was told that if we don't hear back within 30 days, to call again and ask what's going on.

She was also told that the CSC is a little behind in their processing and because of that, it's likely that the agent who looks at your case, upon first inspection, thinks everything seems to be in order, they are likely to approve your application without looking into it in more detail - since they're trying to catch up. Take that for what it is though. I.e. with a grain of salt.

But anyway... I'm relieved. It's nice to know something's actually happening. After so many months of just waiting and waiting, it is starting to feel more real now. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I always thought it was called NVC. Isn't that what the guides here on VJ say? I think Melissa (my wife) said the lady told her our case will be forwarded to the NBC also.

AFAIK our files will be forwarded from CSC to NVC only after NOA2 is issued by CSC. I don't think NBC has to get our file since I have not heard this department involved in I-130 immigration procedure on VJ.

There is an NVC and an NBC. Petitions are forwarded to NVC once approved. NBC is completely different and apparently they can process petitions just like the service centers.

so i wonder whos next? mine is dec. 16... but why didnt they start in the beg. of dec.? and they arnt thru nov yet are they? man.. my cosponser is still waitin on her employment letter so she can send me everything.. what am i gonna do if i receive my noa2 before i get hers? plz help me not freak out! lol

If you don't mind me asking , is there any reason why you think yours was done quicker ? If they're still doing November why would they do a mid-dec ? Have you been married a long time , what country are you coming from?

Just wondering as I am noa1 dec 8 2011....

Congrats again, can't wait to get mine through !
