LOL reading your comment makes me say one line to you "dude you need some sleep" :)

lol You have no idea. It's times like this I wish I was more fond of hard liquor. ;)

Seriously, you seem to be freaked out due to this long wait :)

Actually, I am usually probably one of the most patient people on the planet. It's just that at this particular moment, it feels like my whole life and future are going to be decided one way or the other, and I don't like that feeling, so, yeah, I am getting a bit worked up.

I will generally comment on your entire opinion that it's always better to learn things ahead of time and it never hurts. You know what you have to do when NOA2 shows up in your mailbox. I don't rely on attorney and like to do my things by myself and I don't mind reading things on VJ and ask others if I don't understand or confuse on few things. That's just my personal point of view :)

I try to be prepared. Don't think I don't. Maybe I should have phrased my previous post differently. I guess the best way I can explain it is I have a good idea of what's expected of me (as far as getting documents together). I just feel like I will ACT when I get a list of the required documents. If I would have them sitting in a binder on the bookshelf, it would make me more nervous and scared that I would lose them somehow while waiting for the right time for me to submit them or bring them to the embassy. I understand if that makes no sense to you or anyone else, but it makes perfect sense to me. Whether is because I'm a completely screwball, well, I will let others be the judge of that. :jest:

;)

ADD: For the record, my wife and I decided to handle our case ourselves. We did not get a lawyer involved. We were recommended a couple lawyers, but we agreed that (contrary to what my last number of posts have suggested) we are smart people and we can do it on our own and save a huge amount of $$$ that way, money we can make better use of ourselves (we've talked about going to Hawaii on our honeymoon).

I wish! It'd be better than sitting on some guy's desk.

I have to wonder if my case is going to be different -- I only filed the i-130 (no i485), my spouse lives in El Salvador and was in immigration jail when we were married; he departed the US the week before I sent off the i130. If your case was sent to your local office, I wonder if its because they want to verify your evidence by staff that are in your area?

They first said it was being sent to a local office via a text/email they sent me on 4/25 -- but when I called yesterday the Tier 2 told me it was at NBC as of 4/27.

My wonderful darling wife called today (she called me on the phone now, half an hour ago) and they told her that the California Service Center is currently working on applications from November 15. I think our NOA1 is December 1st or 3rd or something like that. My wife was told that if we don't hear back within 30 days, to call again and ask what's going on.

She was also told that the CSC is a little behind in their processing and because of that, it's likely that the agent who looks at your case, upon first inspection, thinks everything seems to be in order, they are likely to approve your application without looking into it in more detail - since they're trying to catch up. Take that for what it is though. I.e. with a grain of salt.

But anyway... I'm relieved. It's nice to know something's actually happening. After so many months of just waiting and waiting, it is starting to feel more real now. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. :)
