I got another appointment to re-do my fingerprints because the FBI rejected them because they weren't able to process or read it. The problem is because I have sweaty palms. Ive always had this problem. When I did my fingerprints the first time, the technician was having trouble and I told her that my hands were sweaty. She just said that hopefully the FBI wouldn't reject it. Well, they did :( I find it pointless to do another set of fingerprints because it will just be the same exact result. What should I do? I can't afford another delay

I haven't gotten to that stage yet but there's really not much to say I guess. I guess to just try to make sure they're dry next time  By the way your case is pretty similar to mine. How has it been for you, besides the wet hands?

well, I'm not the expert, but I think you will have to do it anyway.

What about if you wipe your fingers with alcohol just right before scanning? Use the alcohol that normally use in the first aid, not alcohol gel.

I'm also thinking about baby powder.. but not sure if it will interfere the scanning or not.

Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that! Hopefully, the second set will go better. Otherwise, you'll be asked to provide police clearance from everywhere you've lived in the past certain number of years (I believe it's 10, but don't quote me on that) and then your case can continue.

When you fail the second biometrics they usually request that you collect police certificates and send them in. Has happened to other VJ members.

You need to find a way to do the biometrics somehow. It is part of the process and you cannot skip it. And you will need to do it again at the POE when you first enter the country. And again when you apply for the AOS. It's the way the government makes sure you are the same person through out the process.

Some people's finger prints simply will not work with the fingerprinting machines. There is no figuring it out. That is why an applicant whose fingerprints repeatedly cannot be processed will be asked to provide police clearances.

My occupation requires me to go through a fingerprint detector and palm reader everyday at work and every three years they require an FBI background check to make sure I have been a good boy since their last background check.

They have a very difficult time in obtaining good fingerprints on me, especially my pinky fingers and everyday I battle the fingerprint detector using my index finger. Usually after 3 or 4 attempts, it recognizes me and lets me enter.

I don't think it is much to do with sweat or oily fingers. My fingers are like my face, smoother than a babies bottom. That is the issue. They even asked me if I work around sandpaper at home alot. Not!

They also ask me to clean my fingers with alcohol to remove the oil from the skin when re-taking my finger prints for my 3 year background check.

All I can say is keep trying and good luck.

We talked about this in my nursing pathology class last quarter. It's called hyperhidrois I believe the usual treatment is injecting botox in the palms.

It might be something consider for the long term if you are having issues.
