Filing for your spouse while overseas - newbie

Hi,

I am new to the board. I just posted in the spouse section that I wanted to bring my husband to USA. I am an American citizen. We had lived in Greece and he was working. The economy got bad over there and I decided to come back to USA. I know there are income requirements and I wasn't working in Greece at the time. I have a question for people who live with their spouses overseas. If you live with your spouse overseas is it faster to bring him to USA or does the whole procedure take a year? He has a business over in Egypt and has records and proof. He also owns some real estate. Does any of his income or assets count in the filing procedures? I also read you must reside in the country for at least six months to begin filing anything. I think even if I lived overseas, I must show proof of my income too and/or show joint sponsorship which I can't find at the moment! I do have some assets but not employment for the past year.

Thank you for any advice again...
