So, here is the story:

J1 visa in 2008 (left on time)

J1 visa in 2010 (left on time)

applied for a tourist visa In June 2011 - was denied (had one year of school left at the moment - masters - showed a note from school that i was in my 5th year, an invitation from a US family - friends, but didn't bring my dads bank statements - he was paying for my trip - i didn't know i needed that, have not visited any other country by that moment)

visited Switzerland, Spain and Germany in August 2011

want to apply for US tourist visa again in February 2012 - I graduated from school in July (here in Russia we have a degree of a specialist which takes 5 years, i was in an experimental group for masters, but decided to drop and graduate as a specialist), started a job with communication agency in September, my boss will write a letter for me saying that i will have a week off without losing my job, ill also show my income statement, im gona go there with my bf who got his 2 year US visa last summer, we are planning to get engaged there, will have a hotel booked by the time of the interview

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF GETTING A DENIAL, SHOULD I TRY TO APPLY AT ALL?

its is a case of chance. depends on who interviewed you. Personal and family experiences teach me having all those documents does not matter. The CO may ask for them or shockingly what you get is :

why are you visiting the U.S?

who is paying for your trip (while simultaneoulsy stamping a refusal on ur passport; my experience many years ago)

is this meant to discourage you? NOPE but to prepare you for the worst.

Inspite of this I say give it a try you never if you dnt mind the $140 fee(?).

My sister has applied for B2 visa three times and refused three times. she intends to try again in march 2012 and I am in full support. She has been to london twice.

sad thing is she DOES NOT have immigrant intent with an NIV. I have made my siblings aware that any of them who gets here on NIV MUST GO back. U.S is no country to be illegal in. It is not worth it and she has a good paying job.. regardless of how long it takes after I file for them, we will do it the right way i tell them.

Last time i was interviewed for a VERY long time (we spoke in English, that was my choice), i think the CO (a man) was at some moment thinking about giving me a visa, but then smth changed his mind, I was told by many people that the fact that i had an invitation from a US family was almost a guarantee for denial from the very beginning.

It's not the money that matters, it's having the second denial that worries me!

My Russian boyfriend got it, and he said and provided letters from my family inviting him.

Frankly I think in the end it's about money. He makes really good money in Moscow, more than he'd make at many jobs in the US, and has enough savings to live in Moscow for three years. So I don't think the CO thought he had financial reasons to go move illegally to the US. Also, I live in Moscow with him, so maybe that helped, but apparently they stopped the interview with the bank statements and that was it.

I've heard that it's more difficult for young women to get it, but this can be just a rumor. I think that you traveled around Europe and have a job will help you a lot.

I think you stand a good chance in getting your B2 visa approved. Here's why (in my opinion):

You didn't overstay TWO J visas;

You have travelled to several "first-world" countries;

You have a job and your boss will give you an employment letter as proof;

You have finished your specialist degree (make sure you bring your certificate as proof);

Your boyfriend is not American.

If you have documents showing you own a home or a car, please bring them too. Also, if possible, bring your bank account statement as well.

(When I applied for my B2 visa I was approved after a grueling interview; I believe it is because I had a steady job, a bachelor's degree, a big amount in my bank account, I had lived and studied in Spain but had never overstayed, and I had visited 10 countries prior. No car or home ownership documents but I got approved.)

I wish you all the best, OP!

December 2009 -- Visit to Malaysia.

February 2010 -- Applied for B2 visa, approved.

March 2010 -- Visited US.

April 2010 -- Returned from US.

May 2010 -- Sent in K1 Visa application.

July 2010 -- Received NOA2 in 71 days from NOA1.

July 2010 -- Packet 3 received.

August 2010 -- Cancellation of K1 Visa application.

It was lost by USPS, and that is a lot of frustration, so im thinking about a tourist visa now! I need to visit him, but if i say that to the CO he will never give me a visa so ill have to say i have a bf here. Like how does it matter, im asking for advice/opinion about a tourist visa with this story, i dont ask for investigation or judgement, right?

Absolute classic example of the level of fraud in applying for a Visitor Visa from certain countries.

Should be made a sticky for all the comments about unreasonable refusals.

I never said i was pregnant, so dont take it out of proportion me asking is that was a case

Oh, so you were only planning to get pregnant if it would expedite your K-1?

You still haven't answered why no more K-1? You say your Boyfriend in Moscow has a 2 year B Visa and you want to "visit" the US with him, does your US Citizen Fiance know about your Moscow Boyfriend?

I have to agree with Boiler on this one, it really does sound like Fraud. You won't get any help with that on VJ!

Get caught lying to USCIS/DOS and you can kiss the idea of any Visa to the US goodbye...
