"PLACE OF BIRTH" ...how big a deal is it?

i requested that my mom send me Birth certificates of all my siblings to have ready for F4 filing and now I have a problem with one of them. Four of us were born in the city while the last two were born in my village.

Apparently my parents decided to register one of the births in the city three years later before she could start kindergarten and of course the local government official listed my sister's birth as having taken place in the city( since their jurisdiction was issuing the document).

Problem is :while filing I-130 for my mom few months ago I stated the actual place my sister was born which is the village.

Does anyone know what are the consequences of submitting my sister's birth cert which states she was born in the city( what if they crosscheck the record with what is on my mom's I-130?)

I really would like to use that certificate since it was issued almost 20years but what about that "PLACE OF BIRTH" discrepancy?

I know right? I am studying and using Vj for stress relief(it is wee hours of the morning) and just posted this only to realize minutes later what I had just done. Hopefully Penguin or someone else will do just that. Thanks!

I dont think you can obtain a birth certificate from the Village in Nigeria except if there is hospital there.If there is,you can ask for it to be re-issued

That will be strange,does it mean everyone bron in the east has to be registered in a major city?her birth certificate reads I....hereby register the brith of ...born to ...and...in Lagos mainland on..."

we have a midwife' reecord of her birth from the hospital in Anambra but of all the names she was given, the ones she uses now and our parents' names are not on it( I would have used that to support her place of birth)
