NOA2 Received Today!

After a long and stressful 181 days, we finally received our NOA2 today, we could not be happier.

Can anyway advise us on what happens now? I understand that our file is now sent to the NVC, how long does this take? Is there anything we can do to speed this up?

On another note, abit of advice for others who are anxiously waiting for their approval. We contacted our local congress office and explained that we were past the processing times and if there was anything they could do. They ended up writing to USCIS asking for an update on our behalf, although we only received a generic response form USCIS, our petition got approved 4 days later...so I have a feeling that their involvement sped things up for us!

Typically it takes about 2 weeks for it to go from NVC to the Embassy. Then the process is Embassy specific. Our Embassy was so efficient that my wife did not have time to get her medical done before the interview date, so we had to reschedule the interview for the next week. Received a day that they do not do interviews on, so rescheduled again for the following week. Had interview and passed. Which Embassy are you going thru? As that will help as those who have been thru that Embassy can tell you what to expect as far as forms, procedures, and timeline.

Good luck on the next phase and congrats on getting thru the first part.

Dave

Thank you for your reply.

London Embassy.

it takes just few days to go from USCIS to NVC. In my case I think NVC received my case file before i even got the NOA 2 email and txt( hw did that happen?).Some of the agents will inform you of the date ur case arrived their location. Twice when I called, I was told oct 24th by different people!!!! ( even though I got my NOA 2 text oct 25th). after NVC receives your file, it takes time to move it from the "mail room" ( I guess) to when they enter your case into their system and then assign a case #, etc...mine took almost three weeks. it varies from one week to several weeks. Just keep callin at least twice a week to find out. the NVC # is 603-334-0700. U could select 5 to speak with an agent. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. -12 midnight EST
