Where is your local field office located?

If you are adjusting from a K-1, you may not get an interview at all. If you do, how long it takes to get the interview letter and date is going to depend on how backed up your local office is. You can check the USCIS website to get an idea of how long AOS is taking at your local office.

As difficult as it is, really the only option is to wait. You can call USCIS but, most likely, they will only tell you that "the case is being processed" and even then only in a letter that will arrive 2-3 weeks after your call. My wife had her GC interview on Nov. 30, just one day short of 8 months after the I-485 receipt notice NOA1 (USCIS received the I-485 on 3/21/11). And, she's still waiting for the GC to arrive but it should be here this week (finally!)

Also, that 8 month wait was without any RFE(s), so don't think that the delay means there is something wrong with your case.

You're not alone in your delay.. In the meantime, you can do a lot toward starting to live a normal life with the EAD.

Hope you hear something soon.

Unfortunately, that website means nothing. Our local office stated a normal 4-month processing time on the website and when we made an infopass appointment after waiting for 6 months, they told us the website could not be trusted and they'd get to it when they get to it. It's very frustrating but totally out of the applicant's hands.

That's unfortunate. It was accurate for our office, listing the approximately delay of about a month and a half - 2 months outside normal processing time, which was pretty much exactly what we experienced.

Not necessarily, but it's likely.
