Just a post to let everyone on ap know that this isn't the end of the world. We all fell in love with our SO and have plans to be with them the rest of our lives. Just because its taking a bit longer is no reason to be so frustrated or upset with the embassy. Look at it this way, once everything is cleared then our SO comes, we can hold our heads high knowing we went thru the difficult struggles to overcome obstacles to get them here and we did it the right way.

There is no amount of time that will drain my love for my husband... in fact the opposite is true... I seem to fall in love deeper every day with this man. We do struggle, I cry myself to sleep some nights, I can't stop thinking about this process and how much we are enduring to be able to live our life together. But what we do is we find a way to make our lives as normal as possible for what it is.

My laptop is on from the time i get home in the evening until we leave for work in the morning. I cook dinner, help the girls with homework, do housework, laundry and even watch movies online. Some days we have to have a discussion with the girls about their grades, their arguments with eachother etc so we also parent together. Everything we are doing now is going to be moved into our real life soon. Even tho he isn't here yet, he IS here online and part of our family on a daily basis.

We have made our marriage strong, we work on our communication and for us, that is one of the most important parts of our marriage.. being able to communicate openly and lovingly.

So for everyone out there on AP, whether it's from a MENA country or Canada, or the Philippines... it doesn't matter where your from... just remember that AP is simply a procedure and it will end. We will be with our loved ones.. this isn't the end... think of it as a little extra time to prepare for their arrival and remember God doesn't let us find our soul mate to live without.. He is preparing our path, our way for a good life and happy marriage....

Our happily ever after IS coming... just a matter of time!!!!! DON'T LOSE FAITH... STAY STRONG AND STAY IN LOVE!!!!!!

You are right AP will end some day and it's best not to let it drive you crazy.

There are people I've met who's husband or fiance does not have a computer. They talk by phone everyday while waiting for AP to be over. It reminds me of how blessed I am to be able to see my husband online everyday.

I am upset that the embassy won't give us any information about our case other than "pending AP". After my husband spending a year in AR/AP I think I have a right to be upset with them. Even though I'm upset I still pray for the people that work for the embassy and wish them well.

yes i understand carolyn.. but as i asked the congressman about this the other day he made it clear to me that the reason they no longer offer a great deal more info is due to the ability of the person being able to know what they are doing and correct issues and make changes to what may be potential flags for issuing visas allowing someone who shouldnt get a visa to be able to change the outcome and get one... once he told me that while i still dont like the non info and generic info.... i do understand and it makes sense and it makes it more tolerable....

all you can do is do what youve been doing... taking a day at a time and know thats a day you wont have to do again

Eabbas, this is inspiring. Good to see that someone is being able to keep their spirits up.

I am getting more and more frustrated everyday. I understand that AP is mandatory and secretive due to national security reasons and it is an attempt to keep America safe. But its obvious that the system is broken and needs major modification. America being the most powerful country in the world and one of the most technologically advanced nation, I doubt that they would have problems developing a system to clear the AP process faster. I mean it should not take them months to figure out if a person has a criminal or terrorist background or not. In 6 months it should be clear if the person in question is actually a listed threat or not. if the issue of false hit on name check databases is causing the delay they should come up with a better software to resolve that problem. I am upset cause I pay taxes, but where is the tax money going? Why is it not being used to develop effective system to minimize our problems.

i agree with you totally but until the system is corrected we have no other options. Maybe once we get thru this we can ask our senators to look at the issue...we all want our borders safe and those getting visas to be eligible but at the same time it weeks out the bad ones while backfiring on the genuine ones leaving us to suffer at the cost of someone else. Not sure how to lobby for this type of reform as we def need something in place for checks maybe theres someone else more knowledgeable in this area...but we do indeed suffer due to other ppl and that isnt fair and at the same time if i dwell in that my faith and hope lessens and i dont stay upbeat about this process. Just want to stay focused on what will be my future with my husband

RealAI,

The money is not being used to address the problems to make AP shorter because the government doesn't care about us. Also the other people who get their visa's without any problems don't care about us either.

What I hate is knowing that we've spent all this time in AR/AP and out visa could still be denied. I don't think they should do security checks until they are 100% sure they will issue the visa if the security checks are clear.

Mashallah! Very encouraging post. Everything that has a beginning, has an end. Inshallah one day we will all get outta AP. It's just our minds are occupied with the same thing and the days seems to go slow

Sorry, AP still too fresh a slap in the face to be feeling any sort of good vibes out of it.

We've been apart for 8 months, and here was the interview, our finish line, and now - who knows how long this will take to sort? And we don't even know what it is they're sorting...

What was the 8 months of processing good for? Isn't that the time for security checks and background checks and verifying facts we're submitted? What has all this waiting been for? Only to be told we must wait longer.

We can make no plans for our future. We can't start our family. We can't move from the spots we've been stuck in. Our lives on hold for an indefinite amount of time for no apparent reason.

Sorry, still hurts too much...

i havent touched my husbands hand in 14 months...never said it doesnt crush...its heartbreaking and i ache for him to the point of break downs but what im saying is we have to not let ourselves be overwhelmed by this...it affects our well being and creates such heart ache instead we have to stay strong and focused on our relationships, being thankful we found our soul mates and that we have good marriages and respect and love and with that we can get to the end of this with some tears shed but lets dont let it completetly take over our lives... When it does we feel even worse

We are blessed with our loved ones
