Hi everyone! Let me start of by saying how useful this site is! Anyway, my fiancé flew in from us to the phils to be with me for my interview with the embassy last November 17. All went well and I got approved for the k1 visa (yay!) however I was asked by the man on window 41 I think to come back with my NBI clearance for travel abroad and the CENOMAR. I quickly got to work and was able to accomplish those 2 within the day. Thing is, I am really getting nervous, anxious and impatient! It's been almost 3 weeks and still no visa! Can anyone out there help me? I have tried calling the us embassy call center but all they say is it is still with the immigration office. Does that mean they are holding for more review? I was really hoping to be in ca by Christmas so I can spend the holidays with him! Any help or advice or even just guidance will make a huge difference. Thank you in advance and hope to hear from you!

Please help!! I'm desperate

There's not much u can do but wait. We are in the same timeline of waiting. I submitted my last documents on Nov 16 and I called USEM today and no one would even pick up the freakin phone. It is so frustrating. Today is the 3rd week since I sent my additional docs and I am really expecting my visa this week. Me and hubby wishes to be reunited this Christmas Holiday :((

If I am calculating correctly 2 business days after Nov. 17th. You submitted your NBI clearance and CENOMAR on November 21st. It take between 14 - 30 days to update paperwork (this going by an average only). 14 business days from Nov. 21 is Dec. 8th.

Now USEM will send your passport and visa to 2GO that will take between 5 - 10 business days. Depending on if you requested for it to be delivered or pick-up at a 2GO location.

CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) Information.

CFO Seminar is a 1 day seminar and process. If all is good you should be done between the 15th - 20th.

Once you have received your passport with visa. Now its time for CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas).

She will need to register for her seminar.

Thank you so much for your reply! it really means a lot! i was told by 2G0 that they would be able to send my NBI clearance the following monday (nov. 21) and as for the CENOMAR the US embassy arranges the pick up directly with the census office and was told this was done once a week (on friday's) so that would mean mine would have been with the embassy by november 28 since it takes the census office 3-4 days to run their database. given that, i am guessing they started processing and reviewing my additional documents only on november 28. oh no!!! so i guess i am in for a looonnggg wait! this is torture! there is nothing more i would want to do than be with the man i love! as for the seminar, i have attended that already! i am so ready to leave!

Hi! I haven't heard of it either and I'm not sure if it holds true. I am 25 and as far as I know legality starts at 21 (for marriage w/o needing a guardian or consent) but of course it never hurts to double check!

I checked the CFO website and it doesnt mention ANYTHING about that

alas, after you've submitted all, you get into a NEW queue. There are others AHEAD of you, waiting to be processed.

At most, you can email the IV unit and inquire IF they got the documents into your casefile, and the dates of same;

also can ask WHEN they think they'll be through with the casefile.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi! I haven't heard of it either and I'm not sure if it holds true. I am 25 and as far as I know legality starts at 21 (for marriage w/o needing a guardian or consent) but of course it never hurts to double check!

I checked the CFO website and it doesnt mention ANYTHING about that

> If you are between the ages of 21-24, CFO may require you to submit a letter of parental advice to marry.

> If you are between the ages of 18-20, CFO may require you to submit a letter of parental consent to marry.

Here's why you didn't see anything on the CFO website about those requirements:

The following is from the CFO website:

Requirements for Attendance to Guidance and Counseling Program

Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph;

Duly completed guidance and counseling form;

If married, certified true copy and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office, or Local Civil Registry Offices; or original and photocopy of marriage contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/ Consulate (if married abroad)

Other documents as may be required by the counselors <----------------------------- :o

Payment of P250.00 counseling fee.

CFO link.

The following forms may come in handy:

Sworn statement that advice of parents or guardian has been asked. (for those who are 21-24 years old)

Consent to marriage of a person under age. (for those who are 18-20 years old)

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy visa journey! :star:
