No, you wil have to pass through seperate areas but can meet back up at a common point on the other side. Do you know what POE you will be coming through?? I am familiar with JFK, Dallas, SF, LAX, and Chicago and might be able to send a link to the airport layout of the immigration control area to find the 'meeting' area. This is not a big problem these days as you will both have cellphones, but its always easiest to discuss where to meet BEFORE you get there. Dont worry too much about this, there will be a LOT of people doing the exact same thing so just follow the crowd!

You both go to the immigration booth together. With my wife , then fiancee, I went first. Then she went. She gave them the brown envelope, they took her fingerprints ( electronically), and passport, then we BOTH went down to a waiting area. In about 10 minutes a woman came out, said welcome to the US, gave her back her passport with the I94 in it. Nothing happens on the plane.

OOps my Bad !

I was married and entered on a CR1 iin the early 90's through JFK. Myself and my daughter were initially seperated at the POE from my wife at the time, She was routed to a complete seperate area and we were not allowed to enter that area. It was scary for her becuase she didnt speak English at the time.

Apparently they have changed the procedure for the better.

My Apologies to all for the incorrect info, I obviously need to do a better job of keeping current since much has changed at the POE since I utilized it last.
