sending orginal marriage certificate?

When filing for AOS should we send our original Marriage license? I really hope not we went through a lot to get it and would hate to give an orginal copy to USCIS

No, you dont have to send the original one, just send them a copy. You have to bring the original on your interview though.

I sent an original copy coz when I tried to make a copy it has watermark that says VOID in it which is ugly. I know USCIS officers know the void mark doesn't mean it's really void but like I said it was ugly.

No, you don't have to. We sent a copy. I'd never send them, anyone else, our original marriage license!

some states give the original marriage certificate (for free i think?), i guess when you copy it , it doesn't have 'void' all over it.

Some states, like California where i'm in, we only get the Certified COPY of it, and we pay $17 for each copy we want to have. and when we try to copy it, it will show 'void'.
