How long NVC takes the time to approve the DS-230?

If you have no RFE's... It's around 2 weeks.

Mine took two working days. My AOS/DS-230 arrived NVC on mon dec 5th and case was closed wed dec 7th. Depends on who is reviewing files I think...

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!
CR-1 (for Husband):
09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)
NOA 2: 2011-10-25 (text and email)
NVC: (19 days)
Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED

I-130 Approved : 2011-07-20

NVC Received : 2011-08-08

Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill : 2011-08-30

Pay I-864 Bill: 2011-09-01

Receive I-864 Package : 2011-09-05

Return Completed I-864 : 2011-09-05

Return Completed DS-3032 : 2011-09-02

Receive IV Bill : 2011-09-07

Pay IV Bill : 2011-09-07

Receive Instruction Package : 2011-09-07

Sent Completed DS-230 Package: 2011-09-07

i just now called up NVC, an operator told me My packet IV documents received. but Original marriage certificate missing.

But i am sure i have sent Original marriage cerificate issued by government authories. I have sent color photocopy of it also. Dont know whether they got confused between Original and Color photocopy.

i dont know why they are telling original cerificate is missing. How can i clarify this to NVC officier.

pls help. anybody had similar experience

I think, it is a quick lesson, Dont send color photocopy, as they may get confused.

I even read, Dont use black pen to sign, because sometimes they may get confused whether it was just photocopy or original copy. As someone reported that they got RFE for using black pen as NVC thought that it was photocopy.

While it's possible they are confused, it is more likely they are saying the document you sent is not the one they are looking for. I always recommend making color copies of anything that has color but there is no need to send a copy in addition to the requested original.

Was the marriage certificate you sent, one you obtained by ordering it from the correct government agency AFTER the marriage was registered with them?

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

yes. i have obtained it from the correct government office.(if not, do they mention like that in email) we did not get a email yet. i pray for case complete soon.

I hope NVC officiers can understand between originals and colour copies.

Yes! But do you have multiple copies with you? In case, if you dont have, then get some copies right away for future purpose.

Just give a call, talk to their seniors, and hope they may resolve the issue quickly. Sometimes it is hard to deal with customer care, but hopefully you find a good one who understands your concern and take care of this matter right away.

Will be praying for your case complete asap.
