My husband just made an appointment for me to see a civil surgeon on Wednesday. They said to transcribe I-693 for the adjustment of status will include a medical examination and would cost $170??? I thought it's only to transcribe and would only cost $20-$25? Please help!

It's a common problem, we went through that too, try to find another cs that knows the process better and/or is not trying to make money off you, it also depends on how old your DS-3025 is and if you need any more shots.

Also, my DS-3025 says INCOMPLETE with Tdap and Varicella being marked as "Insufficient Time Interval". If it's not too much to ask, could you please share with me how you got yours done, if they gave you more shots and how much it cost? Thank you very much.

We also payed more than we should have, about $100.00, we couldnt find a cs that would give us exactly what we asked for and time is money so we settled for the cheapest one we could find, we were not willing to travel to another city to a cs we found that would do it for less. They gave a blood test and transcribed the records.

Here a link for a list that visa journey members made for each state and the cost. Hopes this helps.

We payed $140 for the medical exam , skin test and the transcription of the DS-3025 records . I took the advise of the Civil Surgeon and did it . It was worth it --we did not get a RFE and was approved quickly (without an interview ) .

I paid $50 for just a transcript. Approved without RFE or interview in less than 3 months.

A friend DIDN'T do the I-693, was approved without RFE or interview in 46 days.

CS lie, and lie often.

Would not have been worth it to us. We paid $25 for the transcription and $30 for the flu shot that was required at the time. No way was he going to get another medical, more skin and blood tests and all that rot when he just had all that done a couple months beforehand. Needless, pointless waste of money and not required by USCIS for adjusting status from a K-1.

No RFE for us either, and he was approved on the spot in a 5 minute easy interview.

After calling over 20 Rip Off Artists, oops, I mean Civil Surgeons, nearly bursting a blood vessel, being quoted between $80 and $ 575 I eventually found one decent doctor who transcribed the Medical for $ 20, this Nov 2011 (near downtown Los Angeles). Good Luck.

I also had an incomplete DS-3025 after my medical exam in the UK. I was missing a few shots. I went to my local doctor and got them done for free before I came to the US. I was charged $50 to have my DS-3025 transcribed.

Since your husband's going for a K-1, I'm guessing he he must have had a full medical in the Philippenes. In that case, that medical lasts for one year and he will not need another medical exam. He would need to get those vaccinations though before it can be transcribed. I don't think it matters where you get your vaccinations as long as you can prove to the civil surgeon you've had them.
