According to the Official F2A Annual Report :

For FY2012, there are 322,636 F2A on waiting list

88000 visa numbers available for F2A in FY2012

TOP 5 F2A "Violators"

=============================================

Mexico----------------138,628------43.0%

Dominican Republic-----30,963-------9.6%

Cuba-------------------16,084-------5.0%

Haiti------------------15,804-------4.9%

Philippines------------14,598-------4.5%

All Others------------106,559------33.0%

=============================================

Total-----------------322,636-------100%

Does that mean that, it would take 3.66 years to burn through all these cases if only 88000 is assigned to F2A each year. Could be shorter than 3.66 years because some cases will be converted to IR.

Is there other ways to interpret from these statistics?

This is how I would also interpret the figures. Does anyone know how many F2A cases are, on average, converted to IR/CR cases per year? Or how many F2A couples, on average, don't pursue the visa in the end because of financial issues, divorce, petitioner moving back to the home country, etc.?

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

The number of cases that drop out from the total count should reduce the number of years from 3.66 to 2.65, wait time for F2A.

A difference of 1 year means 88000 visa, therefore on average of 33207 cases would have to be dropped out per year from the total count.

You are getting a good one! LOL dancin5hr.gif

Hey everybody, My wife's PD is May 22 2009, so I hope by the Feb Bulletin her Date is current, and for I've seen, the f2a category is running quick, I mean in comparison with a few years ago, when the waiting time was 4 to 6 years and now is 2 1/2 to 3 years.

Does anyone knows or has had experience in the f2b? when the child is no longer a minor? I got a cousin who had that problem.

Their parents and her little sister got the visa but not my cousin, because at the time of the interview she was 23 years old, so id like to know what can she do in that case? her parents already filled out a f2b.

Sloow movement VB. :(

If they keep moving at this rate your PD will be current by june 2012, right now january is going to be april22 09, so if the bulletin keeps moving every month a month forward yu can guess it will june, but who knows it could be earlier.

Absolutely Wrong.

Annual Waiting Report doesnt show the true picture where it exempts the cases which are subject to Adjustment of Status, which according to ur logic of one year = 88,000 numbers gt failed. Annual Waiting list submitted by NVC comprising only IV petitions, whereas Adjustment of Status cases are with USCIS and those cases also consumed the same budgeted quota of 88,000 numbers, basically there are two types of applicants:

Adjustment of Status whose petitions are with USCIS itself and second procedure is of IV and the petitions are with NVC.

While analyzing dnt forget considering the Adjust. of Status cases into an account for approximations....
