We can change things with our votes.

I can understand the viewpoint to be appreciative that this opportunity even exists. However, the barriers to citizenship are somewhat high. I can understand that they're there to prevent an overflow of immigrants. I have been nearly aware of all costs directly related to this visa; this was just one that I was blindsided by. I know that the future is going to be expensive as well, and I never said that I had a problem with that.

Know you never did. Please understand we all here have been here, in our various stages, for a bunch of time (I'm kinda a newbie myself) and everyone here is actually very learned and supportive.

Don't be put off by some; they have interesting histories, some of which are somewhat sad but they are good people. Please be welcomed and share your experiences and experiences to come.
