They are allowing you to have your foreign fiancé immigrate permanently to the US.

That is a privilege, not a right.

Our elected Congress came up with the rules and costs.

We can change things with our votes.

I'm actually not too mad about the fees. I wish every government agency was paid for by the users.

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

You mean only the people who used the service paid for it?

Where's the democracy in that?

Isn't the government supposed to be paid by the few but used by those who do not pay into it?

What the hell do you think our federal deficit is comprised of? How do you think it is paid off? Maybe those on HUD or any other welfare are not required to pay for it, because if they were able to pay there'd be no need for it! Geez. Fees, no fees, whatever. I am just saying that it's bullsh** that a fee has to be paid for little or no work. Only it has to be paid because they say "yes", and then a mailing fee occurs. That #### isn't that expensive. It's just the government's way of gauging to pay for their debt.

Money from USCIS services doesn't pay for HUD.

I didn't say that it did. forget it. Think what you will. Let's end this thread.

No problem. We all know what you are trying to rant about.....but there it's a useless case.....the fees are what they are.

Trust me, the petition and other application fees are the least of your additional future costs.

Well said Baron. We know Russia wives don't come cheap. And the money necessary to bring them up to speed once they're here in the USA is not chicken feed. Then there's the killer plane tickets to go visit mom back in the motherland. Etc. Etc.

My comments to the OP...you're one edgy dude. This immigration visa process doesn't go well for your kind. It takes money, patience and endurance to get from Point A to Point B. It also takes some reading and understanding of the process. Everything is only a Google away. If you want us to hold your hand and spoon feed you the information, you probably should rethink what your willing to suffer in order to get to the end game.

You'll do better about the money once you understand the visa is a two-part deal. Part 1 is petitioning for the application to get a visa and you are the petitioner. This part deals with USCIS. Part 2 is when your finance, as the beneficiary, applies for an immigration visa. This part deals with the State Department. So, you pay for part one to the USCIS. You pay part 2 to the State Dept.

If it were cheap to immigrate to the USA, there would be tons more applications. In essence, the fees are a filter to weed out the less serious applicants.

The fees are a way for the US to get back the money they've lost on illegal immigrants. If more people were to pay the fees, the costs wouldn't be so high. Economics. As far as Googling the information, this is forum is one of the sites that come up. So, I guess Google has also somewhat failed me. I asked that the thread be closed, but if an argument is being searched for I can provide it. From my experience, it's better to avoid confrontation. We all have our own opinions.

Unlike many of you, I wasn't shopping for a Russian wife.

I would like to have this thread deleted. Any moderators?

Yea....right??!!!! I only paid $99 for mine. How much did you pay? Or do you think you are going to pay?

If you don't have the stamina to stick with us here.....well......good luck.....you'll need it....and it's not USCIS-related at all!!!
